Senior Associate, Portfolio Management

Position Description:
Portfolio Company Oversight
- Assist senior Underwriting and Portfolio Management professionals in managing portfolio company relationships and preparing for board meetings, including direct support on operational reviews, performance improvement initiatives, and management accountability tracking
- Review and analyze monthly financials, quarterly covenant compliance certifications, annual audited financial statements from portfolio companies, with a focus on identifying emerging risks, liquidity constraints, and operational inefficiencies
- Analyze company-level operating metrics and financials data to disaggregate drivers of under/outperformance relative to budget and prior year, developing actionable insights to support margin improvement, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement initiatives
- Support value creation initiatives (i.e., Getting Middle Market Ready, working capital management, and reporting, ), including operational benchmarking, KPI enhancement, and execution tracking across portfolio companies
- Provide analytical and operational support during periods of underperformance or disruption, including liquidity stress, covenant pressure, management transitions, or macro-driven volatility (light crisis management)
- Assist in evaluating and supporting restructuring, reorganization, and turnaround initiatives, including capital structure optimization, cost rationalization efforts, and strategic realignment analyses.
Internal Reporting
- Maintain historical portfolio company financial, capital structure and qualitative attributes in firm data management platforms (S&P Global iLEVEL and WSO), ensuring data accuracy to support operational decision-making and performance diagnostics
- Support valuations processes on portfolio company securities on a quarterly basis, including scenario and downside analyses reflecting operational and restructuring considerations
- Prepare quarterly and semi-annual credit and equity reviews on individual portfolio companies, highlighting operational trends, execution risks, and value creation progress
- Craft thoughtful responses to investor requests related to portfolio company security details and performance, including explanations of operational initiatives, performance remediation plans, and restructuring outcomes where applicable
Portfolio Financing and Amendment Support
- Support drafting and presentation of internal amendment and financing memoranda for relevant approvals from Chief Credit Officer and Investment Committee.
- Prepare detailed scenario-based spreadsheet models to project portfolio company operating and financial performance, including downside, stress-case, and restructuring scenarios, as well as credit statistics and projected returns
- Assist investment analysts in completing pre-investment and post-close workflows, procedures and documentation, with added involvement in post-close performance monitoring, amendment execution, and reorganization processes
- Support cross-functional coordination with legal, restructuring advisors, consultants, and portfolio company management teams during amendments, workouts, and operational improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of investment-related (private equity, private credit), corporate banking, or other finance-related experience (investment banking, accounting, audit, consulting), with exposure to portfolio monitoring, operational analysis, restructurings, or performance improvement initiatives preferred
- Microsoft Excel power user, ability to build 3 statement LBO models, including experience with scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and operational KPIs
- Excellent organizational skills with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to managing multiple tasks and priorities
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team player with a positive attitude and great people skills

Compensation:
The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and performance during the selection process. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other economics. Total compensation may vary by role, location, department, and individual performance.
