Position Description

The Data Operations Analyst is a firmwide role at the center of Star Mountain’s data infrastructure. The role supports the entire firm in its data operations work— keeping the systems of record accurate, current, and decision-ready as the firm scales toward $10 billion+ in assets under management. You will:

• Primary responsibility includes hands on updating of data in the firms CRM and ERP Systems with the goal of keeping the data in the systems as up to date, accurate, and real time. Included in this are record creation, updating, deduplication, standardization, enrichment, and synchronization-error resolution

• Maintain and produce recurring firm reports and trackers: weekly activity and pipeline reports, KPI dashboards, invoice trackers, portfolio reporting inputs, and executive rundown data

• Support executive and investor-facing workflows with accurate underlying data: meeting and interaction logging, contact-card accuracy, tear-sheet fact checking, conference and target-list data builds

• Absorb and industrialize data workstreams transitioning from the firm’s offshore administrative vendor — documenting each process, tightening quality standards, and identifying automation opportunities

• Partner with the Enterprise Infrastructure team on data-quality initiatives supporting the firm’s migration to a unified data lakehouse (Microsoft Fabric / Omni BI) and AI-enabled reporting

• Add value to other aspects of Star Mountain’s overall business as an aligned partner assisting in building a leading private investment business

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of full-time relevant experience in data management operations, business analytics, CRM administration, financial services operations, or an equivalent internship track; recent graduates in business analytics, information systems, finance, or related fields encouraged to apply

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; working familiarity with CRM / ERP platforms; exposure to SQL, Power BI, or comparable reporting tools a plus

• Exceptional attention to detail — the role’s core product is data the firm’s leadership can trust without re-checking

• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage recurring deliverables, competing priorities, and defined turnaround standards

• Clear written and verbal communication; comfort interacting with senior executives and documenting processes

• Discretion and sound judgment handling confidential executive, investor, and portfolio information

• Team player with a positive, solutions-based attitude and a strong work ethic; strong culture carrier

Location: In-person, based in Tampa, Florida.

Compensation

The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and performance during the selection process. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other economics. Total compensation may vary by role, location, department, and individual performance.
