The Role 

We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Technical Lead with a strong product mindset and exceptional problem-solving capabilities. This role is technical in nature and does not include people management responsibilities.

Our Tech Leads are deeply involved in every stage of the software design and development process, contributing to the delivery of secure, high-performing, and scalable solutions. You will play a pivotal role in setting the technical direction for your team and ensuring engineering excellence.

Role Specifics 

• Work Location: Melbourne, VIC  
• Hybrid work model: WFH and office.  
• Reporting Structure: Reports to the Engineering Manager 

What You Will Own 

• Lead the development team in designing and developing software solutions and products. 
• Establish and manage technical standards and processes to ensure the quality and reliability of our software. 
• Set technical direction and ensure adherence to best practices. 
• Mentor and coach the software development team. 
• Stay up to date with the latest technologies and industry trends. 
• Work with Principal Engineer to implement new patterns into your team. 

 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar. 
• You have held a Technical Lead (or similar role) for at least 2 years. 
• You have worked to improve, modernise, and decompose large codebases. 
• Experience working on SAAS platforms at scale. 
• An inclination towards communication, inclusion, and visibility. 
• Deep knowledge of .NET ecosystem including testing frameworks. 
• Good understanding of web technologies including  HTML, JavaScript, CSS. 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Huge plus if you have knowledge of payment systems (e.g. card networks, gateways, PSPs). 
• Practical knowledge of web accessibility. 
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies. 
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles. 
• Proficiency with one or more public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
