We know that the journey to recovery is unique for every individual, and our patient-centered approach ensures we meet patients where they are, providing evidence-based therapies with unwavering support in a compassionate environment that fosters healing and growth.   Role Summary  As a Steadfast Health APP, working in our hospital partner settings, you’ll practice at the top of your license, providing a compassionate, evidence-based, addiction medicine consult service, filling a critical gap in substance use disorder care. You will serve as a primary point of contact for providers in the hospital, providing timely consultations, treatment recommendations, and mission-driven support to patients.  As a key member of the hospital-based consult team, you’ll work closely with attending physicians, hospitalists, nursing staff, and case managers. Physician backup will be readily available, and you’ll remain closely connected to Steadfast’s leadership team. Here, you’re not just joining a care team, you’re helping shape the future of addiction treatment within the hospital system.  Some of the Benefits  Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family.  401(k) match up to 5% to help you invest in your future.  100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, plus employer-sponsored life insurance for added peace of mind.  Generous PTO, floating paid holidays, and paid volunteer days Re-Fuel Days: Take four paid days each year to recharge — for mental health, rest, or continuing education.  Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free, confidential access to therapy sessions, legal guidance, financial resources, and health coaching.  Collaborative care model with physician collaboration, therapist partnership, and full MA support.  Ongoing professional development with an annual CEU stipend and addiction-specific training to keep your skills sharp.  An opportunity to shape our growth — join us early and help define the future of addiction care.  Responsibilities  Conduct inpatient consultations for patients with substance use disorders and related comorbidities.  Collaborate closely with hospital teams, including attending physicians, nursing staff, and case managers, to develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.  Provide compassionate patient-centered advocacy through the application of Motivational Interviewing principles.  Deliver up-to-date, life-saving, cutting-edge SUD therapies with ongoing mentorship from specialty-trained addiction experts.  Assist in ensuring smooth handoffs to outpatient Steadfast Health clinics and community resources, ensuring continuity and reducing barriers to long-term recovery.  Build strong, respectful relationships with hospital staff, contributing to an integrated, collaborative model of care.  Demonstrate flexibility and proactive problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced hospital environment.  Continuously pursue learning opportunities to stay current on addiction medicine and hospital-based best practices.  Provide occasional cross-coverage for outpatient clinic APPs as needed, ensuring seamless patient care and team support.  Qualifications  NP (FNP, AGNP, PMHNP preferred) or PA-C (Internal, Family, Emergency, or Hospital Medicine experience preferred), licensed in the state of Tennessee.  Minimum of 1–2 years of hospital-based clinical experience strongly preferred.  Comprehensive medical and/or psychiatric evaluation and management experience in substance use disorder treatment.  Knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities.  Ability to confidently navigate hospital systems, workflows, and interdisciplinary teams.  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with hospital staff.  Flexible, solutions-oriented, and committed to continuous learning and professional development.  Passionate about Steadfast Health’s mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reductionist SUD care.  Physical Requirements  Ability to move throughout hospital units, including frequent walking and standing.  Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate medical equipment, perform examinations, and complete electronic documentation.  Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and hospital staff, both verbally and in writing.  Capacity to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds (such as medical supplies).  Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess patient conditions, read medical records, and respond to clinical situations.  Flexibility to adapt to the fast-paced, variable environment of hospital care while maintaining a patient-centered focus.  Investors & Partners   Steadfast Health is proudly funded by Google Ventures (GV) and launched out of Triple Aim Partners. Come join a team where your expertise is valued, your voice is heard and your impact is lasting.   Some of the Benefits   Healthcare Coverage: Medical, dental and vision insurance  Time Off: Flexible time off with generous PTO, floating paid holidays, and paid volunteer days   Re-Fuel Days: 4 additional paid days off per year for mental health, rest, or continuing education (CEU) activities.  Continuing Education: Annual CEU stipend & ongoing paid training   Support Toward Licensure: If needed, we provide clinical supervisors to sign off on your hours - helping you earn your license without the cost of an outside supervisor.  Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free, confidential access to therapist sessions, legal guidance, financial resources, health coaching, and more - to support your overall well-being.  Protected Time: daily downtime for recharging, clinical supervision, cx-functional collaboration, and administrative tasks (including a dedicated 1-hr lunch)  401K Match up to 5%  100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability and employer-sponsored life insurance   A long-term commitment to reasonable caseloads and therapist representation on the leadership team   An opportunity to get in at the ground level and shape how we grow!  Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):  Provide individual and group therapy sessions for patients with substance use disorders, both in-person and via telehealth, embodying the Steadfast patient-first ethos.  Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans, modeling a non-paternalistic and destigmatizing approach to patient care.    Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support patient recovery.  Collaborate with all clinic-level team members to formulate and execute patient care plans, including Advanced Practice Providers, Medical Assistants, and Peer Recovery Specialists, ensuring integrated treatment approaches.  Support patients in crisis intervention situations and coordinate higher levels of care when necessary.  Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.  Pioneer innovative ways of improving access and overall care for disadvantaged, marginalized populations.  Champion the company’s mission by modeling compassion and fostering trust and strong relationships with patients and communities.  Educate patients and families on SUD, co-occurring disorders, and available resources to support sustained recovery and overall health.    Participate in regular case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in SUD treatment.   Qualifications   Clinical mental health licensure (LMSW, LCSW, LPC-MHSP, LPC-MHSP(t), LMFT) in Tennessee.  Minimum of 1 year experience providing therapy to individuals with substance use disorders.  Certification in addiction counseling is a plus.  Experience with telehealth platforms and virtual care delivery is a plus.  Strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities.     Ability to effectively interact with diverse staff, patients, and community members.    Excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible, can-do mentality, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.    Passionate about Steadfast Health’s mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reductionist SUD care.  Location: This role follows a hybrid model, with responsibilities carried out both remotely (at home) and on-site (in clinic). The arrangement is designed to provide flexibility while maintaining alignment with organizational needs and team collaboration.
