Overdrive is a hardcore media company programming digital video, photos and audio for a gnarly psychographic that's into dumbass comedy and bare knuckle fighting. While what we make is pure entertainment and this job will be on the entertainment team, our brand team creates a suite of protective gear (starting with tools to prevent overdoses) to monetize and engage consumers with product. Our sponsored and original content is primarily in these verticals: action sports, comedy, music, gaming and combat. We primarily commission content so this job will be focused on dealmaking and relationship development.

Overdrive has an opening for an experienced dealmaker to spearhead new partnerships with talent, media companies and organizations. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience as a seller (producer/studio), producer, and/or buyer/commissioner (network) in content development/production or at a studio/management company—as well as deep knowledge of the creative and business/legal process from idea to launch. Must have proven creative instincts ideating, developing, and closing talent and unscripted media projects as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationships.

Location: Remote

Compensation: The target compensation for this role is $10,000-12,000 per month. Contract or Salary. Preference is a 3-month contract to start.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage relationships with talent and key partners
  • Exercise excellent creative and business judgement, tracking entertainment trends, and developing breakthrough original formats
  • Build relationships with buyers, key stakeholders at Overdrive, talent, artist representatives and the greater creative community
  • Lead and manage the curation of talent/media outreach and pipeline of creators
  • Lead dealmaking and closing process with various creative partners
  • Liaise with other departments including Brand, Publicity, Finance and Legal Affairs

Basic qualifications:

  • 5+ years of creative executive or representation experience brokering talent/activation/sponsorship/media deals
  • Deep understanding of the nuts and bolts of development, including ideation, creation of pitch materials, production, and dealmaking. Including experience working with digital creators and distributing on digital platforms
  • Experience working with other departments such as casting, production, research, PR, business and legal affairs
  • Experience with all creative aspects of video/photo development production and post production
