
Social Media & Community Engagement Lead

Through the Steer suite, we allow the shop owner to get back to focusing on what matters, and to stop worrying about marketing and customer retention.
Steer began as an online directory for drivers to find a local mechanic. Fast forward to today, Steer has launched a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite, complete with text messaging, email automation, direct mail integration, reputation management, appointment reminders, declined/recommended services, and many other features. We are always innovating and we are proud to be a leader in the automotive repair industry. In August 2024 Steer acquired AutoOps - the leader in modern, intelligent, and fully integrated scheduling software for auto repair shops. AutoOps allows customers to smoothly schedule through a shop's website and Google Business Profile.
About the Role
As the Social Media & Community Engagement Lead, you will be the eyes, ears, and voice of Steer & AutoOps, driving conversations and community growth across Facebook groups, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. You will create value-driven content, spark discussions, and build connections to foster an engaged and active digital community.
The ideal candidate is strategic, adaptable, and 100% obsessed with making SaaS feel more human.
What You’ll Do:
Community Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Build and nurture a strong, engaged social community by creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and shared learning among shop owners.
- Actively create and post relevant content in owned Facebook groups, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok to spark discussions and provide valuable insights.
- Act as a bridge between AutoOps & Steer and the auto repair community, providing feedback that shapes product and marketing.
- Organize and moderate live discussions, Q&As, and AMAs.
Content Creation & Curation
- Create authentic, platform-specific content for Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok
- Leverage user-generated content and customer success stories to showcase real-world wins.
- Keep up with industry trends, challenges, and opportunities to make sure content stays relevant.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and product teams to align messaging and promotions.
Brand Representation & Advocacy
- Build relationships with shop owners, influencers, and industry leaders.
- Translate product updates into real-world benefits that shop owners actually care about.
Data & Performance Tracking
- Track engagement, community growth, and post performance with weekly/monthly reporting.
- Bring those insights back to help improve campaigns, product launches, and content direction.
What Makes You a Great Fit:
- 4-6 years in social media, community management, or customer engagement.
- Video storytelling skills, comfortable being on camera and creating content.
- Strong knowledge of Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok and how to drive engagement on each platform.
- Proficiency with design tools like Canva, InShot, and CapCut to edit videos.
- Passion for B2B SaaS and the target market's challenges
- Experience managing online communities and fostering discussions.
- Strategic thinker who can adapt, pivot, and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Strong communicator
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- ✨Bonus: experience with social monitoring tools like Loomly, Agorapulse, or StatusBrew
