Senior Manager, Consulting Ecosystem

San Francisco, California, United States

Interested in working on cutting-edge blockchain technology and creating equitable access to the global financial system? Since 2014, the mission-driven team at the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) has helped fuel the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high-scale today. Developers and companies around the world build on it, and the SDF team is expanding to support the rapidly growing and changing Stellar ecosystem.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you'll be engaging directly with global and regional-specialized consulting firms and system integrators as a primary point of contact for the SDF regarding private and public institutional projects. You’ll be providing support on helping them understand the Stellar network, how they can bring their public and private sector clients onto the network. Most importantly, you will be growing the world of blockchain and supporting SDF’s mission of creating equitable access to the global financial system.

In this role, you will:

    2. Improvement and payments automation, cross-border flows and trade finance using Stellar assets and infrastructure.
  • The goal is not to get as many channel partners as possible, but to select and cultivate the ones that provide the best (and recurrent) leads and cross-sell projects. In more detail:
    • Source, qualify, and close large transformational global consulting partnerships that add value to the entire ecosystem and lead us to large private and public sector implementations.
    • Serve as an internal leader to drive initiatives and advocate for these partners.
    • Work with the grants, community, and marketing teams to support the launch and execution of new programs and initiatives for engaging with our global partners
    • Propose new ways in which the Foundation can provide systemic support and opportunities for this ecosystem and its clients.
    • Seek out and respond to -- or help consultants respond to -- RFPs for major public or private sector blockchain initiatives.
    • Find venues where Stellar should be represented in this ecosystem, and represent or organize representation.
    • Proactively propose to the channel partner to publish landing pages and other material to educate the ecosystem on Stellar. As well as assess doing it ourselves (via SDF).
    • Work with channel partners to monitor blockchain adoption by large institutions, including the major public and private banks within the US and abroad, and ensure the consulting firms and third parties working in these initiatives are on the right track regarding targets and use cases.
    • Set geographical priorities to the channel partners based on SDF strategy.

You have:

  • You have 3+ years of experience working in business development and / or growing a business as a founder, especially in highly technical industries.
  • You have a deep understanding and experience in closing large complex enterprise-scale deals in the finance and/or fintech space internationally, ideally in emerging markets.
  • You’re willing to travel 25% of the time.
  • You have significant experience working with internal and external stakeholders within this ecosystem and/or in a reseller capacity to execute projects and/or business negotiations.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
