About the Role
This is an opportunity to shape the future of the student experience in higher ed. As a Product Lead, Platform you’ll do it all — work closely with the founders and sweat the details with feature teams. You’ll do this at a high-growth, mission-driven series A startup in enterprise SaaS.
We have found true product/market fit and we are now taking it to the next level. We are currently looking for a Product Lead to own the roadmap and delivery of the Platform squad. This squad is responsible for building blocks used by all feature squads to deliver their experiences. It includes underlying systems such as workflow, permissions, search and other modules including their user facing experiences. As a Product Lead, you will work closely with the founders and our Head of Product, including our design team in San Mateo and our engineering team in Pakistan. This role is hybrid remote and located in San Mateo 3 days per week.
We’re looking for a leader that can thrive in our fast-paced startup world, and who has the experience to help Stellic scale. In this key role, you’ll:
- Deeply understand Stellic’s users — students, staff, and academic leadership.
- Own the roadmap of the product area, prioritizing across multiple stakeholders.
- Work closely with our design team in the Bay Area and our engineering team located in Pakistan, defining the product features so they can successfully build our product for timely release.
- Lead cross-functional teams to develop and deliver delightful, innovative experiences and solutions to user problems.
- Get into the weeds - write the user stories, help with QA, create documentation, run standups — whatever it takes.
- Be a true player-coach - you love (not just tolerate) being an individual contributor focused on problem solving
You'd be a great fit for this role if you have the following skills and experiences:
- 5+ years of experience driving product execution involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong experience working directly on B2B2C SaaS products from conception to launch and through iterations.
- You have worked directly with an offshore engineering team on feature development from scratch.
- You have some technical chops - strong experience building directly with engineering teams and the ability to understand how different parts of the product work together.
- You are able to use that understanding to bring different solutions to the table
- You are a flexible and scrappy person who can find a way to make progress even when all the right infrastructure is not in place.
- You have a strong understanding of working at a small startup and can thrive in the chaos.
- You feel strongly about working in education and want to be part of a mission-driven culture.
- You are a lifelong learner - you have extreme levels of curiosity.
Why Join?
- Be part of the customer-centric team that's addressing the core issues in higher ed via an expandable platform — one that’s overwhelmingly loved by students and valued by administrators
- The opportunity to join at the ground level of a promising platform and be part of a team critically responsible for its growth
- Be part of a culture where ownership, new ideas, and creativity is celebrated
- Work and learn from some of the most prominent thought leaders in higher ed and SaaS sales
- Generous stock options in a Series A stage startup
- Flexible, outcome-based culture
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
- 401K and commuter benefits
- Annual international retreats in some of the most beautiful cities & towns
Salary: $150,000-200,000 base salary, plus equity
Work location: Candidates must be willing to work in-office in San Mateo 3 days per week as part of our hybrid work culture.
