Reporting to: Finance Manager

Location: Ideally EU based role

Job purpose: To ensure all Suppliers invoices are raised and managed in good time and month end reconciliations are complete in order to support the accurate and timely preparation of the month end accounts.

Job Role:

  • Review all invoices and expenses for appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure all invoices are approved prior to payment.
  • Post supplier invoices into our accounts system, posting to the correct supplier, expense code and project code.
  • Review of employee expenditure, ensuring that all transactions have the necessary backup/documentation to prove business expenditure for all STEM Entities.
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier accounts by posting all weekly payments and recording supplier accounts to statements.
  • Responsible for the review of bills processed and paid, making sure there is no duplication of invoices.
  • For global projects, ensure we record all consultants’ expenses in each region and ensure we have all the necessary backup to bill our clients and booked according to match the project.
  • Assist in month end closing.
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Assist with STEM US Accounts payable.
  • Assist with other ad hoc finance when needed.

Essential Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Interested in studying Finance and accounting to gain technical/professional qualification.
  • Some financial and system knowledge including basic spreadsheet skills desirable.
  • Self-starter- ability to work on own initiative.
  • Take ownership- good attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills- ability to prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines.
  • Team player- maintaining close working relationships with good communication and interpretational skills.
