The Opportunity
We are seeking a qualified accountant to serve as Financial Controller providing personal financial support to the founder of a global international law firm. This is a unique opportunity to provide high-level financial management and strategic support for complex personal financial structures, working directly with the senior partner in a fully remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee personal financial operations across multiple entities, including trusts and estate planning structures
- Maintain accurate financial records and produce regular reporting on assets, liabilities, and cash flow
- Coordinate inter-entity transfers and ensure proper documentation and compliance
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts across various entities and jurisdictions
Operational Support
- Manage bill payment processes and vendor relationships
- Track and organize investment holdings and related documentation
- Coordinate with external advisors including wealth managers, attorneys, and tax professionals
- Maintain organized financial filing systems and ensure document retention protocols
Strategic Partnership
- Provide proactive financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency
- Anticipate financial management needs and develop solutions independently
- Serve as trusted partner on confidential and sensitive financial matters
Qualifications:
- Qualified accountant (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification)
- 5-8 years of accounting experience, preferably including family office, private wealth, or high-net-worth client service
- Strong understanding of trust structures, estate planning entities, and multi-entity accounting
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial record-keeping
- High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial management platforms
