Product Management Intern

Detroit, MI

Help empower our global customers to connect to culture through their passions.

Why you’ll love this role

The Product Management Intern role will join the Order Management and Fulfillment tech team, where you'll work on everything that happens after a buyer places an order: fulfillment, shipping, verification, financial operations, customer service, and the post-purchase experience. You’ll have the opportunity to help build and optimize the systems that power every transaction on the platform, from order management and fulfillment to financial systems, customer-service and the post-purchase experience. You'll work at the intersection of marketplace operations, supply chain technology, and data-driven decision making, contributing to initiatives that directly impact how millions of buyers and sellers transact across StockX.

What you’ll do

This role will interface with several internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, operations, customer service, finance, data science, and supply chain teams. In more detail, you will:

  • Learn firsthand what it means to be a product manager, from writing requirements and defining metrics to partnering with engineering and making prioritization tradeoffs on a live product at scale
  • Take a customer-centric, data-driven approach to evaluate opportunities and define requirements, starting with the customer problem to solve and the intended outcome
  • Investigate issues from different sources, perform root-cause analysis, identify systemic gaps, and help ensure those gaps are addressed
  • Conduct research and competitive analysis on supply chain technology, order management systems, and AI/ML applications in e-commerce operations
  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products and initiatives, using outcome-driven methodology to measure impact through KPIs
  • Build artifacts to track and communicate initiative status across programs such as shipping optimization, order accuracy, inventory protection, and seller experience
  • Partner with product managers and data science to identify, size, and prioritize contribution margin (CM1) improvement opportunities across order management, fulfillment, and financial systems
  • Support planning and execution of product launches for new fulfillment capabilities and marketplace features, including readiness assessments, stakeholder alignment, and post-launch validation
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, CS, and supply chain teams to document requirements and ensure alignment across global stakeholders

About you

  • Ability to communicate complex operational and technical concepts clearly to both technical teams (engineering, data science) and business stakeholders (operations, finance, customer service)
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data to inform product decisions
  • Innate curiosity and ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment where creative solutions are the norm
  • Demonstrated experience managing or contributing to cross-functional initiatives, including planning, execution, and delivery
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track multiple work streams and surface what matters
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and strong written and oral communication skills

Nice to have skills

  • Prior experience or coursework in finance, supply chain management, research, or e-commerce
  • Exposure to data analysis tools (SQL, spreadsheets, BI dashboards) and comfort working with quantitative metrics
  • Interest in AI/ML applications in operational or product contexts
  • Familiarity with marketplace business models, order management, or fulfillment systems
