Staff Software Engineer - DevOps

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff DevOps Engineer to play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS, Linux systems, CI/CD pipelines, and automation, with a proven track record of successfully delivering high-quality DevOps solutions in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure Design & Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure on AWS.
• Automation & Tooling: Develop and enhance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or other tools to ensure consistency and reproducibility.
• CI/CD Pipeline Development: Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration and delivery using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD, or CircleCI.
• System Reliability & Monitoring: Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including access management, network segmentation, and vulnerability management.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously improve system performance and scalability through proactive tuning and resource optimization.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with software engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders to enhance DevOps practices. Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across teams.
• Incident Management: Participate in on-call rotations, perform root cause analysis, and drive improvements to reduce operational pain points.
• Documentation & Standards: Create and maintain high-quality documentation of processes, architecture, and configurations.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or systems engineering.
• Extensive expertise in AWS services, including EC2, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation/Terraform, and cost optimization.
• Proven Linux administration skills, including performance tuning, security hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Strong proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, Bash, Go, or similar).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in various environments (on-premises, cloud-native, hybrid).
• Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of networking, security best practices, and monitoring frameworks.
• Experience with GitOps principles and tools such as ArgoCD
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environments with multiple stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience with multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Certifications in AWS (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, etc.)
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, etc.).
• Exposure to SRE principles and building resilient systems.
• Knowledge of modern security practices and tools
