Senior Product Manager, AI Products

Remote

Who You Are:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to lead The Lab, Storyblocks' AI product team. This role owns conversational search and our MCP connector, which puts the Storyblocks library inside AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT.

Conversational search gets customers to the right result when they describe a mood or an idea rather than a keyword, including searches that used to come back empty. Our MCP connector brings the Storyblocks library into the tools they already work in, so finding the right clip doesn't mean stepping away from the project.

This role works with engineers, data scientists, designers, researchers, marketers, and analysts on a cross-functional squad. It is a high-impact, high-visibility role, responsible for helping to define where our AI products go and then rallying the cross-functional team to experiment and deliver business results.

This role leads The Lab and reports to Scott Simpson, VP Product. It can be based out of anywhere in the US.

*Note: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. Storyblocks does not sponsor employment visas

What You'll Do:

  • Own the roadmap for The Lab — Storyblocks' AI product team — translating open-ended questions about search quality, memory, and MCP distribution into a prioritized plan with clear business impact.
  • Define and track the metrics that matter for AI product quality, distinguishing real signals from vanity KPIs and iterating when things don't go as planned.
  • Partner directly with engineering, data science, design, research, and PMM to align on OKRs and rally the team to deliver against them.
  • Drive experimentation at real volume, designing pre/post and A/B tests using tools like Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, or Amplitude.
  • Use qualitative research — customer interviews, usability studies, and discovery sessions — to inform prioritization and product direction.
  • Navigate complex launches that require legal review and third-party platform approval (e.g. OpenAI plugin store, Claude MCP directory).
  • Reason about what an AI interaction costs and what that implies for packaging, pricing, and product strategy.
  • Communicate roadmap and priorities clearly to audiences ranging from engineering and data science to executive leadership.

What You Bring to the Table:

You don't need to check every box here. If you're strong in most of these and genuinely curious about the rest, we'd love to talk.

  • Strategy & Prioritization: Demonstrates the ability to identify opportunities across the customer journey using qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Problem Solve: Demonstrates the ability to problem solve, diagnose, and the agility to adjust roadmap and actions when 'things go wrong'.
  • Qualitative Research: Past experience in utilizing qualitative research to inform product development.
  • Quantitative Testing: Past experience in setting quantitative testing experimentation frameworks: pre/post, A/B testing.
  • AI & LLM Products: Experience shipping an LLM-powered product to general availability is a strong plus.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Evidence of strong cross-functional leadership in driving impact and execution by aligning Product/Engr/Design/Data Science/Research/PMM to achieve OKRs.
  • Curiosity: You are interested in solving hard problems, and enjoy exploring new technologies and ideas. You enjoy diving into unknown territory.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You can make good decisions with incomplete information, and you are honest about your confidence level.
  • Ownership mentality: You care deeply about all aspects of the product and user experience. You do whatever is necessary to move the team along and deliver value to customers.
  • Growth mindset: You are eager to find ways to improve yourself and your team. You are open to feedback from your teammates. You promote a culture of experimentation.
  • Team player: You work best as part of a team (no matter where they're located). You are humble, supportive, and empathetic. You foster an inclusive environment for your team and are always open to new ideas.

Must Have's:

  • Project management experience with increasing levels of responsibilities. Consumer, e-commerce, and/or subscription product experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver impact on key product and business metrics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across departments and executive leadership.
  • Experience owning cross-functional efforts to drive company level objectives and outcomes.
  • A strategic and systematic thinker who thrives on hypothesis-driven and data-driven approach to experiment design and learnings.
  • Embrace rapid experimentation, making decisions using available data.

How you work:

  • You identify opportunities starting from customer problems, using both qualitative and quantitative data.
  • You diagnose when things go wrong and adjust the roadmap and actions without waiting for someone to tell you to.
  • You say no to stakeholder requests when the data doesn't support them and manage expectations with clarity and care.
  • You take ownership of all aspects of the product and user experience — you do what's necessary to move the team and deliver value.
  • You promote a culture of experimentation and are open to feedback from teammates.
  • You work best as part of a team, no matter where they're located. You're humble, supportive, and empathetic.
  • You're curious about hard problems and enjoy exploring new technologies and ideas. You use AI to sharpen and speed up your work, not to replace your judgment.
  • Storyblocks' values resonate with you.

Nice to Have:

  • Shipped an LLM-powered product to general availability.
  • Experience with developer-facing or platform products: APIs, connectors, or plugin and app-directory ecosystems.
  • Background in creative tools, stock media, video, or a creative industry.
  • Consumer, e-commerce, or subscription product experience.
  • Search, discovery, or relevance experience.

What we Bring to the Table:

  • Competitive and fair compensation: We believe in fair pay, meaning equal pay for equal work. For each title, we consistently apply competitive salary bands based on market data and benchmarks, reviewed twice a year. What you've been paid before, fear of conflict, or willingness to negotiate does not play a part in determining your pay.
  • The annual base salary range for this position is $160,000 – $175,000. Placement within the range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: knowledge, skills, years and depth of experience, and equity with internal team members.
  • 401(k) retirement plan: We offer both a Traditional and Roth 401(k) with a company match.
  • Company-paid medical: Our medical, dental and vision premiums are covered 100% for you and your dependents.
  • Paid parental leave: We support all paths to parenthood. Birthing parents receive up to 12 weeks of paid medical recovery leave plus 4 weeks of paid bonding leave (up to 16 weeks total). Non-birthing parents receive 4 weeks of paid bonding leave. Parents welcoming a child through adoption, surrogacy, or foster placement receive up to 12 weeks of paid bonding leave.
  • Unlimited vacation: At Storyblocks we take vacation seriously. That means take the time off when you need it. Don't worry about tracking hours or accounting for partial days. Typically, employees take about three or four weeks each year. Plus, two company-wide week breaks in July and December.
  • Workplace benefits and perks: We are fully remote and have company and team events.
  • Company-sponsored mentorship and growth: We encourage attending meetups and are happy to host them as well. We also have a leadership coach, on staff, available to all employees to enhance your professional development.
  • Employee perks: We help employees maintain work-life balance and honor their contributions to the organization by offering resources such as a financial wellness program, a subscription service that offers unlimited deliveries from thousands of eligible restaurants with $0 delivery, and a recognition and rewards program that celebrates their accomplishments.
  • Casual Work Environment: Sure we all get dressed up once in a while, but in general we want you to be comfortable at company events – whatever that means to you (flip-flops, jeans, etc.).

We encourage you to apply even if your experience is not a 100% match with the position. We are looking for someone with relevant skills and experience, not a checklist that exactly matches the job description. We want to help you grow and in return, you help us grow into a stronger, more inclusive organization.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
