Site Production Manager

Overview:

The Site Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing production operations across multiple value streams, ensuring alignment with company goals. This individual manages production activities, leads continuous improvement initiatives, and balances immediate productivity with long-term value stream health. The role includes managing risks, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring the production of high-quality cannabis products. The Site Production Manager will also collaborate with other departments to meet the company's financial and operational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees production teams across multiple shifts and departments, ensuring alignment with operational goals and KPIs.
  • Leads a culture of continuous improvement and sustainability, focused on team engagement, safety, and high performance.
  • Directly supervises Managers and Supervisors responsible for achieving key performance metrics, safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Monitor value stream metrics for process health, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices.
  • Ensure production operations comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, quality, packaging, warehousing, distribution, and finance to meet operational goals.
  • Enforce proper machine maintenance and safety standards.
  • Implement workflow policies that optimize efficiency without compromising safety or product quality.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports, identifying trends and proposing improvements.
  • Support the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies to drive performance.

Qualifications:

  • Strong business acumen with a solid foundation in production operations and continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with value stream mapping and Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and develop diverse teams.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of METRC software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in production or operations management, preferably in cannabis or another regulated industry.
  • 3+ years of direct supervisory experience, managing teams across multiple shifts or departments.

Work Environment:

  • Must wear proper PPE as required.
  • Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to various temperatures, gases, loud noises, and odors associated with cannabis production.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for long shifts.
  • Must be able to push, pull, or lift at least 50 pounds.

 

 

Maryland Pay Range

$115,000 - $125,000 USD
