We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Strata. In this role, you will design, implement, and support infrastructure systems that enable the reliability, performance, and scalability of our SaaS applications. You will help ensure our platforms and systems maintain high availability and resilience through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, and Engineering teams to improve platform reliability, performance, and application deployment processes.
  • Apply reliability engineering practices across observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, capacity planning, and disaster recovery.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and production issues across systems and technologies, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Automate infrastructure deployments, upgrades, maintenance, and other repetitive operational work using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Proactively identify and address technical debt, single points of failure, and opportunities to improve the reliability, scalability, and resilience of the environment.
  • Monitor and analyze system and application performance to proactively identify issues and opportunities for optimization.
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives across cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, virtualization, containerization, and platform architecture.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and alternative solutions, bringing forward recommendations that improve performance, reliability, operational efficiency, or cost.
  • Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, standard operating procedures, runbooks, and technical best practices.
  • Contribute to the Infrastructure team’s longer-term technical roadmap and continuous improvement priorities.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, cloud, or site reliability engineering.
  • Experience designing, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise data center infrastructure, with an understanding of modern infrastructure practices across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Salt, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, alerting, incident response, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Strong systems-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex issues across multiple technologies, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • An automation mindset with the ability to identify repetitive work and build solutions that improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Curiosity and a continuous-learning mindset, with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies and apply that knowledge to solve problems.
  • Strong engineering judgment and a willingness to question existing approaches, evaluate alternatives, and recommend better solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across Infrastructure, Cloud, DevOps, and Engineering teams.
