Position Overview

SIG is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with Ellucian Colleague expertise to join our dynamic team. The Colleague Project Manager will collaborate within a team to help deliver an exceptional client experience. In addition, our Project Managers are expected to support their team mates in various ways, such as providing functional guidance, mentoring, technical assistance, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with a diverse range of educators across different institutions, including public four-year universities, private colleges, and community colleges.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager:

  • Define and establish the project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Forecast required resources to meet project objectives, ensuring effective and efficient resource management.
  • Develop a project budget based on the scope of work and required resources.
  • Monitor and track project expenditures to stay within the allocated budget.
  • Create, manage, and update a detailed project schedule and work plan.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders regarding strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Oversee contracts with vendors and suppliers, assign tasks, and communicate expected deliverables.
  • Apply industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Continuously monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure alignment with objectives.
  • Evaluate project performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, vendors, and other key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Project Management experience, including leading projects from inception to completion, ideally in a higher education setting
  • Recent experience working with Ellucian Colleague software for at least 2-3 years, with functional or technical knowledge of Colleague.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with well-developed active listening capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce standard processes and procedures, ensuring team adherence.
  • Proven leadership skills to inspire and guide a team toward a shared vision and project success.
  • Ability to set clear, reasonable, and challenging expectations, while holding team members accountable for meeting them. This includes providing constructive feedback on performance.
  • Excellent team-building skills to foster collaboration, motivation, and a cohesive work environment. Strong team-building is especially critical for larger teams and long-term projects.
  • Proficient in communicating project status to sponsors, team members, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Skilled in identifying, negotiating, and resolving issues that arise during the project, particularly those that impact other areas or systems.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Developing comprehensive Project Plans
    • Creating Communication Plans
    • Managing Issues and Change Requests
    • Designing and implementing policies and procedures related to new or evolving processes
    • Managing overall project schedules to ensure timely and budget-conscious completion
    • Identifying, managing, and mitigating project risks
    • Writing various reports as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent professional experience.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
  • Experience in consulting, particularly in a project management context.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other project collaboration tools.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of Ellucian Colleague.
  • Advanced understanding of functional modules within Ellucian Colleague.

Pay and Benefits

  • The salary range is $90,000 -$110,000

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
