About the role 

Strata Information Group (SIG) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Contract Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, evaluating proposals, and ensuring compliance with current regulations. 

The ideal candidate will excel at drafting and editing contracts with precision, have strong attention to detail, and possess in-depth knowledge of procurement regulations, contract agreements, and legal terminology. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the sales team, clients, and executive leadership are essential. You should also be comfortable explaining legal terminology and the rationale behind contract terms to internal and external stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Negotiate contract agreements for consulting services.  
  • Review and analyze existing contracts to determine the need for amendments. 
  • Draft, prepare, and edit contracts between SIG and potential clients. 
  • Research and apply relevant regulations to ensure contracts are compliant with applicable laws. 
  • Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including Professional Services Agreements (PSA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Independent Contractor Agreements (ICA), and Master Services Agreements (MSA). 
  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure contract terms accurately reflect project details. 
  • Utilize NetSuite Suite ProjectsPro to create projects, set budgets, and establish revenue recognition (billing) rules. 
  • Assist with legal reviews for Requests for Proposal (RFP). 
  • Perform contract redlining and provide detailed explanations of revisions. 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Previous experience drafting and negotiating contracts (ideally 2-3 years). 
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player. 
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced workload; monitor progress and meet tight deadlines. 
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. 
  • Highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships across the organization. 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. 
  • Skilled at writing with clarity and brevity. 
  • Familiarity with legal terminology. 
  • Previous experience working within Salesforce. 
  • Experience red-lining contracts, with the ability to look at a contract and understand the liabilities to SIG. 
  • Comfortable making decisions aligned with SIG standards and escalating complex matters when necessary. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research and implement solutions effectively. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience in higher education or in an industry that serves colleges and universities 
  • Experience in technology service provisions 
  • Experience with ERP procurement processes 
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 

Compensation & Benefits 

Our compensation package consists of salary, annual bonus, and retirement benefits.  The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on individual skills, experience and location.

Note: These benefits are only applicable to full time SIG employees.  

This position may be performed remotely anywhere within the United States. The posted salary range is a good‑faith estimate of the salary range that we reasonably expect to pay upon hire for this specific role and location. Compensation may vary based on geographic market, skills, experience, and other job‑related factors. The posted pay range reflects our good‑faith estimate for the role at the time of posting.

The listed salary range for this position is indicative and subject to adjustment based on the candidate's unique skills and location. Final compensation will be determined through mutual agreement between the successful candidate and SIG.
