
Aircraft Electrician
Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5+. The Aircraft Electrician (Level 3) will be responsible for wiring harness fabrication, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems and components. As Stratolaunch expands our program base, this person may be tasked with new projects and in the development of vehicles requiring the skills, knowledge and abilities.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as wire harness fabrication,
installation, fault isolation, maintenance, and repair of wiring and/or connectors, and equipment
- Perform complex work on PCB/PCA assemblies from component installation to protective coating to system sub-assembly per IPC Class 3 requirements
- Perform operational testing of the electrical systems
- Interpret technical data such as electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and specifications to install and troubleshoot wiring installations.
- Complete all required installation records in an accurate and timely manner
- Other duties as determined or assigned by management
- Use instruments such as voltmeters, oscilloscope, to perform basic electric tests.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of Aircraft Standard Wiring Practices per AS50881
- Have mastered the basic and complex tasks related to harness fabrication and installation, such as crimping, terminating, routing, soldering, inspection criteria to Aerospace quality standards
- Have mastered PCB work with high quality, including component soldering, removal, conformal coating application, SMT rework, and mechanical subassembly work.
- Ability to identify and inspect electrical component criteria for acceptance / or defect in areas listed above
- Matured ability to read, Interpret, and work from Electrical Engineering Definition and to communicate with Engineers regarding questions or discrepancies
- Ability to research and follow manufacturer's connector or other component assembly instructions and to work from Electrical Manufacturers’ product specification sheets
- Strong understanding and commitment to FOD control and tool control
- FCC GROL/Radar License preferred
- Airframe and Powerplant Certification preferred
- Detail oriented – strong attention to detail
- Personnel safety mentality – not just work safely, but promote a culture of safety
- Honesty, responsibility, accuracy, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments
- Ability to solve problems and adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and take the initiative
- Physically able to handle items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Able to work in confined spaces or heights greater than 25 feet as required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Level III ($45.00-$74.55) High school diploma or equivalency certificate and 10-20 years of experience in aircraft harness fabrication, installations, troubleshooting, electrical connector maintenance, and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certificated (or previously certificated)
- IPC-610 and/or J-STD-001 Certificated (or previously certificated)

Wine aficionados will also find easy access to some of the state’s best vino in Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and even more locally in Tehachapi and Agua Dulce. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
