Security Receptionist

1099 Contractor Role

The Security Receptionist will report to the Facility Security Officer.  The Security Receptionist will assist Stratolaunch guests and remote employees as they visit the site. This role will require superb customer service and a positive attitude.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Monitor visitor access in conjunction with the Facility Security Officer.
  • Maintain Master Visitor Control Calendar
  • Maintain accurate records within SwipedOn
  • Manage Tour Requests
  • Receive and verifies guests, vendors, suppliers and coordinates documents for their visits.
  • Conducts screening programs such as Denied Party Screenings.
  • Issues and tracks visitor badges, new hire badges and temporary badges.
  • Conduct daily badge audits and follows-up with any missing badges.
  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive. Notifies company personnel of visitor arrival and logs their entry/departure into a visitor control database.
  • Place maintenance requests as needed.
  • Assist with shipping items to remote employees, as needed.
  • Distribute mail
  • Perform lobby hosting duties, as needed.
  • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity and fulfillment of commitments.
  • Become familiar with the Access Control System
  • Manage Non-Employee Badge Agreements, tracking Temp Hires, Contractors, Long Term Visitors
  • Run & Review After Hour Badge Records
  • Run monthly badge audits
  • Route all corporate phone calls/check voicemails on main line
  • Assist the Security Department with tracking Security Education & Training
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Knowledge, experience, skill, and/or ability
  

  • Daily attendance at our Mojave, CA site
  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Team-oriented individual who can work well and communicate with various people
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Well organized self-starter who can grasp and complete tasks with little supervision
  • Experience interacting with senior level management and prior customer service experience a plus
  • Must be able to remain calm, cool, and have a positive attitude under pressure
  • Must be physically able to lift or push (on a cart) up to 30 lbs.
  • Demonstrate the highest level of integrity and have a commitment to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate the willingness to take on more responsibilities and projects as time progresses

Required computer skills 

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Education/experience/certifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and 1 plus years relevant experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • This position is located in Mojave, CA
  •  $25-$27 an hour

Mojave Air & Spaceport is located 95 miles north of Los Angeles. To outsiders it may seem like it is the middle-of-nowhere, but it offers both affordability and central access to a variety of California’s best attractions and landmarks. Hikers will find themselves within a 2-3 hours distance of some of the best state and national parks, including Yosemite and Sequoia in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. You’re within a half day’s drive or less of Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and San Francisco where you can find a variety of live entertainment, museums, tours, and historical sight-seeing. Theme parks are in abundance, with Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disneyland, and Knotts Berry Farm ready to meet the needs of rollercoaster thrill seekers. 

Food and drink fanatics are in a haven of delectable choices. Wine aficionados will also find easy access to some of the state’s best vino in Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and even more locally in Tehachapi and Agua Dulce. Beer fanatics will find some of the best West Coast IPAs at Bravery and Lucky Luke’s in Lancaster. Any food option you crave is covered, and we always recommend the authentic and fresh Mexican food that you won’t find anywhere else in the United States.
