We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Manager to oversee and support our organization's IT operations. This role involves managing a small team, ensuring seamless IT support, and collaborating with system and network engineers to maintain and improve infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to handle both technical and administrative responsibilities.

 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Team Management:
    • Lead and manage a team of 4 IT professionals, including conducting regular 1:1s and team support meetings.
    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure team success.
  • IT Operations & Support:
    • Oversee helpdesk support operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
    • Manage all-hands meetings and technical setups for company-wide events.
    • Monitor infrastructure and servers to ensure system reliability and performance.
  • Project & Vendor Management:
    • Plan and execute IT projects, including software upgrades and system implementations.
    • Manage purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective and efficient IT solutions.
  • System Administration:
    • Oversee user account management, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
    • Manage printers, hardware, and other IT equipment across the organization.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
    • Work closely with system and network engineers to maintain and improve IT infrastructure.
    • Coordinate with other departments and external support teams to align IT initiatives with business goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in IT management or a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Experience with helpdesk support and managing technical teams.
  • Proficiency in project management and vendor relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server and Windows Desktop environments.
  • Helpdesk support experience including KACE.
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory administration and management.
  • Knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and infrastructure, including Exchange, OneDrive and SharePoint.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS or applicable experience in lieu of degree

  • Frequent travel required to Washington D.C., Mojave Spaceport, and other domestic locations

 

  • Manager ($157,000 - $206,000K): Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree (preferred) in related discipline from an accredited institution and 10+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
