The Strava for Business team works with brands and their agencies interested in engaging with the Strava community. We provide an innovative and exciting alternative to standard advertising channels and formats. As the Americas Sales Lead, you are a manager/player, as confident leading and coaching a team as you are with pitching, winning and nurturing our most valuable customers.

You are an expert in how to sell to marketers at all levels, and have ample experience of media agency and brand direct advertising sales. You know how to align Strava’s sponsorship solutions to deliver on client objectives. You are comfortable working in a dynamic business environment with ambitious goals, and you know what is required to support your team to achieve them. You will be challenged to stretch your creative and strategic muscle, working in lockstep with cross functional teams, including Marketing, Creator and Developer Partnerships as well as Product..

This role is based in the NYC office with a hybrid in-office work requirement of at least 3 days per week.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will:

  • Lead and develop Strava for Business in the Americas and Australia.
  • Develop and sell brand sponsorship activations that delight your clients as well as the Strava community.
  • Win as well as deepen existing relationships with our most important brand and agency accounts.
  • Support your team to help them develop their respective markets and win key accounts.
  • Serve as the voice of your customers, surfacing feedback and partner trends with product teams and leadership.
  • Be part of the Strava for Business leadership team, and play a key role in running and developing the business.

You will be successful here by:

  • Educating customers on Strava’s values and identifying and prioritizing partners who are aligned with our mission and vision.
  • Maintaining pipeline hygiene across your team to support sales operations and business planning.
  • Coaching and developing your team, leading with compassion and care.
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual revenue targets.

We’re excited about you because:

  • You have 10+ years of experience in a quota-carrying commercial digital advertising or sponsorship sales role.
  • You have multiple years of experience managing a commercial team as a media owner/platform providing digital advertising solutions.
  • You have a deep understanding of and well-developed contacts in the advertising industry, particularly amongst the large agency holding companies and enterprise brands.
  • You move effortlessly between being a manager and a player, looking after your own partners whilst also leading and coaching your team.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of the digital media and advertising landscape.
  • You have experience or genuine interest in working with product teams, using your extensive knowledge of the digital landscape and marketer needs to help guide product development.
  • You are a well versed communicator, able to engage your audience and clearly articulate a value proposition, whether it’s an internal or external pitch.
  • You are organized and experienced in pipeline management and forecasting.
