TITLE: Geospatial Data Scientist - Senior
LOCATION: St. Louis, MO
OVERVIEW
Streamline Defense is seeking an exceptionally-qualified candidate to serve as a Data Scientist at the Senior-level in support of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for accuracy and consistency of geospatial data management, developing and maintaining data standards, and ensuring data is protected and compliant with office and agency regulations and standards.
- Performs in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
- Reviews analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft, industry and agency standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests analytic rigor of analytic content.
- At least five (5) years of experience in geospatial data management, data governance, or data stewardship roles, preferably in a complex organizational environment.
- Utilize SQL and have foundational understanding of database technologies with the ability to analyze and profile data.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and adept at problem solving to address data-related issues and coordinate the implementation of data improvement initiatives.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging best practices in data management, governance, quality and stewardship.
- Analyzes complex data landscapes, identify data risks, and define mitigation strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing to take a CI polygraph, if required.
- 5 years of experience in geospatial data management, data governance, or data stewardship roles, preferably in a complex organizational environment.
- Proficient in SQL and have foundational understanding of database technologies with the ability to analyze and profile data.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and their impact on data management practices.
- Strong understanding of data management principals, data governance frameworks, and data quality concepts.
- Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and adept at problem solving to address data-related issues and coordinate the implementation of data improvement initiatives.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging best practices in data management, governance, quality and stewardship.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data landscapes, identify data risks, and define mitigation strategies.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills to maintain data governance artifacts and support audits and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in ESRI suite of tools, geodatabase technologies and web capabilities.
- Understanding of geospatial data metadata, standards, and implementation.
