
Manager of Software Engineering

Job Description
What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 3–8 engineers, fostering collaboration and ownership.
- Define and drive your team’s roadmap in partnership with Product and Engineering leadership.
- Ensure high-quality delivery through best practices: code reviews, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance monitoring.
- Manage technical risks, reduce debt, and optimize for long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and cross-functional alignment.
- Hire top-tier engineers and help shape a culture of growth, feedback, and accountability.
- Serve as a technical escalation point and steward of engineering process and tools.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience as an engineering manager or tech lead; 5+ years overall in software engineering.
- Solid software foundation with modern engineering practices in distributed systems, architecture, and scalability.
- Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js, Node.js.
- Proficiency with Database engines such as SQL Server, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD, and engineering tooling.
- Strong leadership and people management skills — coaching, feedback, career development.
- Experience shaping process and delivering high-quality software in an agile environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Background in security, infrastructure, or large-scale engineering operations.
- Experience working with remote or distributed engineering teams.
- Familiarity with strategic intelligence, data-heavy platforms, or regulated industries.
