Description

Striim is hiring a Field Engineer to be a technical leader and hands-on solution implementer, working directly with customers throughout the life cycle of the Striim Platform. A Field Engineer creates a guided customer journey through all phases of implementation, including new customer onboarding, solution architecture, hands-on development, and technical enablement.

This is a highly technical, customer-facing role requiring strong coding, integration, and troubleshooting skills, combined with the ability to engage with customer teams as a trusted advisor. The Field Engineer drives operational excellence, innovation, and continuous adoption of the Striim Platform.


Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Solution Delivery

  • Onboard new Striim customers, delivering learning, solution strategy, technical enablement, and implementation guidance.
  • Lead customer technical teams during development phases, ensuring smooth adoption and successful deployments.
  • Support the seamless transition from pre-sales prototypes to post-sales production environments.
  • Act as a product expert and trusted technical advisor, helping customers maximize value from Striim.
  • Conduct health checks with customers to ensure operational excellence and identify opportunities for expansion.
  • Demonstrate new applications and use cases to drive upsell and broader adoption.
  • Report on the status of key accounts, including escalations, to management and Customer Success.

Hands-On Technical Implementation

  • Actively design, develop, integrate, and debug customer solutions.
  • Write and maintain code in SQL, Java, Python, and Shell scripting, following best practices for scalability and performance.
  • Configure and optimize cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deploy data pipelines.
  • Work with SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB) to develop queries, optimize performance, and integrate applications.
  • Implement and troubleshoot messaging systems such as Kafka and JMS.
  • Debug and resolve complex technical issues to ensure high reliability and performance.
  • Increase Striim’s internal knowledge base by creating and maintaining documentation, best practices, and troubleshooting guides.

Internal Collaboration & Advocacy

  • Serve as an in-house customer champion, coordinating with support, success, and product stakeholders.
  • Track and escalate customer issues, training needs, and product feature requests (PFRs).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to influence product evolution and drive technical innovation.

Requirements

    • 5+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles (Field Engineer, Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, Customer Success Engineer, etc.).
    • Hands-on expertise in SQL, Java, Python, and Shell scripting.
    • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure and data services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Experience working with databases: Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB.
    • Familiarity with enterprise data environments and mission-critical IT systems.
    • Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, JMS).
    • Experience with modern data platforms (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) is a plus.
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges across infrastructure, databases, and integrations.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
