Systems Administrator - Alachua Onsite
Company Overview:
Strive Pharmacy is a personalized compounding pharmacy built on a simple conviction: medicine should fit the patient, not the other way around. We started Strive because we believed the pharmaceutical industry was overdue for a more human approach—one that prioritizes individualized care, clinical nuance, and genuine partnership with patients and providers.
Compounding gives us the tools to do that. Every formulation we prepare is built to the specific needs of a specific person, and every interaction we have is guided by that same commitment to personalized care.
We're growing, and we're looking for people who share that conviction. If you're ready to be part of a pharmacy that takes the work seriously and the people even more seriously, we'd like to meet you.
Mission:
Strive exists to disrupt an industry long overdue for a more personal approach to care. We put the human element at the center of everything: every formulation, every patient interaction, every provider partnership. We're not just a compounding pharmacy. We're a team on a mission to change what personalized healthcare looks and feels like.
Location: Alachua, FL
Position Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday - Friday (day shift)
Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000
Position Overview:
The Site Systems Administrator is the dedicated, on-site IT resource for Strive Pharmacy's 503B outsourcing facility in Alachua, Florida. This hands-on role keeps the day-to-day IT environment running for the site (endpoints, identity, servers, network, cloud/SaaS and end-user support) so that the office and the manufacturing floor stay connected, secure and productive.
This is a broad role well suited to a Windows-centric generalist who likes being the person everyone on site comes to. It is a strong fit for someone coming out of an MSP or a multi-site help desk who is ready to own a single facility end to end and grow their career.
The administrator works alongside the GMP Systems Administrator, providing the underlying infrastructure and end-user services that the regulated environment depends on, while respecting the segmentation and change-control boundaries around validated systems.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Support, Training & Onboarding
- Serve as the primary on-site IT support resource for all manufacturing, quality, engineering and administrative staff.
- Triage, track and resolve support tickets; escalate to the central IT team, vendors or specialists as needed.
- Provision and manage workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, label printers, scanners and mobile devices.
- Deliver IT onboarding and end-user training for new employees; handle account setup and offboarding.
Endpoints, Identity & Asset Management
- Manage day-to-day identity and access administration using Active Directory and Okta; follow RBAC and least-privilege practices.
- Support Windows 10/11 and macOS endpoints through an MDM/RMM platform such as Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne or Addigy.
- Apply endpoint security and patch management policies; verify backups complete successfully and report exceptions.
- Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory covering hardware, software licenses and SaaS subscriptions; track renewal cycles and support license compliance.
Site Infrastructure & Network Support
- Support the on-site network, including switches, wireless access points, VLANs, DNS, DHCP and VPN/ZTNA client access.
- Perform structured cabling requests, port turn-ups, access point placement and basic troubleshooting across office and manufacturing areas.
- Support on-site server and virtualization infrastructure; keep firmware, patches and configurations current under guidance from the central infrastructure team.
- Help maintain OT/IT network segmentation by keeping process control systems isolated from corporate IT, coordinating with the GMP Systems Administrator on any change that touches validated networks.
Cloud & SaaS Support
- Perform day-to-day administration of Google Workspace, Okta and other site-facing SaaS platforms.
- Support user-facing functions of the pharmacy management system and ERP; partner with platform owners on escalations.
Automation & Operational Efficiency
- Build and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as provisioning, reporting and software deployment.
- Use RMM/MDM tooling for centralized endpoint management and remote support.
- Identify continuous-improvement opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve reliability for site staff.
Team & Support Model
This is the dedicated on-site IT resource for the Alachua facility, but it is not a solo assignment. The role is backed by Strive's broader IT organization, which provides:
- Remote support and escalation from centralized infrastructure, security and service desk teams; you will not be expected to solve complex technical problems alone.
- Team members who can travel to the site as needed to provide extra hands for larger efforts such as network buildouts, hardware refreshes, office or cleanroom expansions, migrations or coverage during planned and unplanned absences.
- Access to platform owners and subject matter experts for systems that are administered centrally rather than at the site level.
- A remote GMP Systems Administrator who owns the regulated computerized systems, so this role is not responsible for validation or Part 11 compliance work.
The expectation is that the Site Systems Administrator owns day-to-day service for the facility and pulls in remote or traveling support deliberately, rather than absorbing every project alone.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of hands-on IT support or systems administration experience.
- Strong working proficiency with Windows 10/11 in a business environment, including troubleshooting, imaging and deployment.
- Experience administering Active Directory or a comparable directory service (user and group management, GPO basics, permissions).
- Working knowledge of core networking concepts: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless and basic switch configuration. **(Required)**
- Experience with an endpoint management platform such as Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne or Addigy.
- Scripting ability in PowerShell or Bash sufficient to automate routine tasks.
- Comfortable working independently on site, prioritizing across competing requests and communicating clearly with non-technical staff.
- Able to perform hands-on physical work: racking equipment, running and terminating cable, moving and setting up workstations and gowning to enter controlled areas as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience at a managed service provider (MSP) or as the primary IT resource for a single site.
- Exposure to Windows Server administration.
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi or Proxmox.
- Exposure to firewall administration; Fortinet, OPNsense or Palo Alto a plus.
- Experience with Google Workspace and Okta administration.
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, healthcare or other regulated environment.
- CompTIA A+, Network+ or Security+; Microsoft endpoint or Azure fundamentals certifications.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered in place of a degree.
Annual Salary
$65,000 - $75,000 USD
