Landman Operations 

We are seeking a driven Landman Operations professional with experience in land, title, and operational work to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of land management, business development, and operational execution. The ideal candidate will be a go-getter who can immediately take ownership of critical tasks, support leadership by lightening their operational load, and play a key role in developing drilling prospects and strategic opportunities.

This position requires strong analytical skills, contract and title expertise, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with landowners, industry peers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Contracts & Proposals

  • Draft, distribute, and track proposals.
  • Negotiate, execute, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with terms.
  • Maintain accurate records of leases, expirations, and obligations.

Acquisition & Divestiture Support

  • Participate in asset evaluation, due diligence, and transaction execution.
  • Coordinate closing processes and document preparation.
  • Support leadership in identifying and assessing opportunities.

Title Work & Analysis

  • Order and review title, and run title as needed.
  • Perform title and operational analysis to support drilling, leasing, and transaction decisions.
  • Provide clear reporting and recommendations to leadership.

Prospect Development

  • Within the first 30 days, begin assembling drilling prospects and operational opportunities.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop prospects into actionable projects.
  • Contribute to portfolio growth by bringing forward at least 1–2 viable drilling prospects within the first year.

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Take immediate ownership of tasks to reduce leadership’s operational workload.
  • Track and manage key deadlines, obligations, and deliverables.
  • Provide analysis and reporting on land and operational matters to support decision-making.

Networking & Relationship Management

  • Travel regularly to key industry hubs (Houston, Midland, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and other areas as needed).
  • Build bridges with landowners, counterparties, and industry partners.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and deal-making discussions.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of land and operations experience in the energy sector (E&P preferred).
  • Strong foundation in property law, mineral rights, and title research.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and “own” projects from day one.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting title, contracts, and operational data.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for relationship-building and deal execution.
  • Familiarity with GIS (geographic information systems) and land management software.
