Role Overview: 

We are seeking a highly analytical and technically skilled Geoscientist with 4–10 years of experience and mandatory exposure to the Lower 48 (L48) U.S. basins. The successful candidate will contribute to basin-wide evaluations, A&D opportunities, and geological data quality and integration efforts. This role is pivotal in supporting investment decisions across the firm’s Oil & Gas and subsurface asset portfolio.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, petrophysicists, and reservoir engineers in a fast-paced, results-driven environment that blends geoscience with investment rigor and cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Conduct geological interpretation using well logs, seismic, core data, and production trends across U.S. L48 basins

• Build and maintain geological maps, cross-sections, and reservoir models using platforms like Kingdom or Petrel

• Perform quality control of subsurface data, ensuring reliability for modeling and analysis

• Integrate multi-source geological and petrophysical data into development and A&D models

• Maintain and update geological databases, SQL tables, and internal data repositories

• Generate technical reports and visualizations to support acquisition evaluations and asset development plans

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine geological understanding and inform business strategies

• Use Python and SQL for automation, data retrieval, and basic subsurface data analytics

• Track and document the progress of basin-wide geological projects

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Geology or Geosciences

• 4+ years of relevant experience, specifically working with U.S. Lower 48 (L48) onshore basins

• Hands-on experience with geological interpretation software (Kingdom, Petra, Petrel, etc.)

• Solid understanding of reservoir development, field mapping, and A&D workflows

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Basic working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Spotfire is a strong plus

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Comfortable working independently in a distributed/remote team environment
