Position Summary:
Jocelyn Pension Consulting, a Strongpoint Partner, is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Retirement Administrator Manager to join and help manage our growing team. This individual will not only provide full-service consulting to a designated segment of Plan Sponsor clients - managing day-to-day communication, workflow, and project deadlines - but will also lead and manage a team of six plan consultants.
In this leadership role, you will support team development, drive accountability, and ensure a high standard of service across the group. You'll collaborate closely with our Operations, Participant/Client Support, and Plan Documents teams to deliver seamless and effective service to our clients. PLEASE NOTE: This is a fully remote position and can be performed from anywhere within the United States; however, preference will be given to those in the Boulder, CO and San Francisco Bay areas who are able to work a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of six plan consultants, supporting their development and ensuring high performance.
- Serve as a resource and escalation point for your team, offering guidance on complex client matters.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the firm's operational and strategic growth.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to guide both clients and team members.
- Provide timely, superior customer service, including problem solving and issue resolution for a caseload of retirement plan clients.
- Maintain client relationships with a high client retention rate.
- Responsible for all aspects of valuation reports, participant statements, and annual testing.
- Review or perform, as needed, the annual testing for plans, including ADP/ACP, Top Heavy, 410(b), 415, 401(a)(4), deductibility, and 402(g).
- Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear, concise, and informative manner.
- Assist Plan Documents Team with plan design and document questions, including understanding IRS and DOL regulations.
- Assist clients in meeting all IRS and DOL deadlines necessary for qualified retirement plan.
- Maintain up-to date knowledge of present legislation and proposed legislative changes with regard to ERISA law through self-study and company-sponsored training sessions.
- Assist Operations Team with payroll processing and compliance questions.
- Review participant distribution and loan requests and assist Distribution and Loan Team with all compliance related questions for distributions and loans.
- Review, prepare, and help ensure timely filing of Form 5500’s for each client.
- Assist auditors if a plan is subject to annual audit.
- Assist IRS and DOL auditors, if the plan is subject to an IRS or DOL audit.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Between 5 - 10 years of 401(k) retirement plan administration experience.
- Excellent knowledge of ADP/ACP, 415, 410(b), Top Heavy and 401(a)(4) non-discrimination testing.
- ASPPA and/or NIPA credentials preferred.
- Experience with Relius software strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong math and/or accounting skills.
- Strong initiative, integrity, self-motivation, and results orientation.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong MS Office experience, especially Excel and Word.
