Based in Boulder, Colorado, and Rafael, California, Jocelyn Pension Consulting (JPC) is an independent consulting firm that provides professional advice and local support to create a customized 401(k) Plan solutions for small- to medium-sized growing businesses. RPCG is an operating partner of Strongpoint Partners, a leading tech-enabled financial services retirement platform backed by Shore Capital Partners (SCP).
Position Summary:
Jocelyn Pension Consulting, a Strongpoint Partner, is searching for a Retirement Plan Operations Associate to be a part of our participant services team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated candidate who wants to learn and support all sides of a growing financial services firm.
This individual must have strong project management skills, a high level of comfort with technology, and the personality to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment by being adaptable, creative, proactive, and eager to grow in this position as it evolves with the growth of the company.
PLEASE NOTE: This role is based out of our Boulder, Colorado office and would preferably follows a hybrid work model; however, we are open to this position being fully remote for the right candidate, (Central, Mountain, & Pacific time zones only).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process participant loan and distribution requests (e.g., hardships, rollover, termination, RMD) in compliance with plan rules and regulatory requirements (ERISA, IRS, DOL).
- Verify eligibility for loans/distributions based on plan provisions and participant status.
- Ensures accurate calculation of loan repayment schedules and tax withholdings.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Preparing cash reconciliation daily.
- Respond to inquiries from plan sponsors and participants related to loans, distributions and general plan operations.
- Monitor email and phone calls and respond to all 401(k) plan sponsor support questions.
- Communicate professionally and clearly via phone and email to resolve issues and explain plan rules and procedures.
- Provide guidance on required forms, documentation, and timelines for loan/distribution requests.
- Be able to creatively solve problems and overcome challenges in a variety of different scenarios.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Strong math and / or accounting skills
- Strong initiative, integrity, self-motivation, and results orientation
- Experience working with high-level, busy professionals
- Proactive problem solver
- Strong MS Office experience, especially Excel and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Retirement Plan experience, specifically 401(k) plans
- Sungard, Relius, and / or Schwab RT experience
- Spanish-speaking a plus but not required
Pay Transparency Statement:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $50,000-$54,000 annually.
At Strongpoint Partners, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US. Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
