About Retirement Planning Consulting Group, (RPCG):
Based outside of Hartford, Connecticut, Retirement Planning Consulting Group (RPCG) leverages their breadth and depth of expertise across all retirement plan considerations to optimize plan performance for their clients and participants. Position Summary:
RPCG, a Strongpoint Partner, is seeking a Loan & Distribution Specialist. The Loan & Distribution Specialist is responsible for working on the team that processes participant loan & distributions from various investment provider partners. This is a great opportunity for a motivated candidate who wants to gain experience in the qualified retirement plan industry. This individual must have strong organization skills, comfort with technology, and the personality to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment by being adaptable, creative, proactive, and eager to grow in this position as it evolves with the growth of the company.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a fully remote position and can be performed from anywhere within the United States. We welcome candidates from all U.S. time zones; however, due to the primary locations of our team and clients, preference will be given to those in Hartford area able to work on a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply ERISA distribution rules in determining eligibility and availability for loan/withdrawal.
- Comfort level reading plan documents.
- Prepare distribution and loan packages from start to finish, including vesting verifications.
- Prepare Required Minimum Distributions packages at year-end.
- Assist participants, clients, and/or financial advisors with distribution and loan issues/inquiries.
- Answer phone calls and assist clients and advisors as needed.
- Update account managers, management, and plan sponsors as necessary on requests and progress.
- Establish solid working relationship with all vendors and plan sponsors to ensure open and accurate communication.
- Perform other duties as needed by team members.
- Provide superior client service, responsiveness and communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in a customer service environment.
- Ability to work independently with management review and support.
- High degree of organization and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and ability to work efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, participants and recordkeepers.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Flexibility, adaptability and ability to multi-task.
- Team player, collaborative, able to work with and through others.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to utilize and keep current CRM software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the retirement and/or financial services industries highly preferred.
