Based in the Capitol Hill studio, the Senior Piercer will report to the Studio Manager and will execute piercing services within the Studio while also being a piercing subject matter expert and mentor for the Studio team. In this role, you will help develop the piercing knowledge and skills of your studio’s talent to ensure they consistently deliver exceptional customer service. You will also partner with management to implement strategies that drive revenue to help your Studio meet their goals, while maintaining a safe environment for both employees and customers.
Hourly Rate: $36.05/hour

Financial Acumen

- Partners with your Studio Manager to implement strategies to continually improve key business metrics like piercing throughput and AOV in order to achieve your sales plan, while maintaining our high safety standards.
Service Oriented
- Delivers a smooth piercing at a perpendicular angle with a gentle transition and has the ability to expertly troubleshoot in the procedure
- Serves as a brand ambassador: welcomes and educates clients on the unique Studs’ piercing and shopping experience through our selling cycle
- Steps in to support service recovery and de-escalate customer situations, as needed
- Provides excellent bedside manner with empathetic yet confident, clear, and professional communication with clients during the entire Studs’ experience
- Identifies and escalates client feedback to improve the overall experience
OPERATIONS
Decision Quality & Execution
- Protects the piercing experience to ensure overall safety and satisfaction for the Piercing Team and the clients
- Leverages Studs’ policies and resources in decision-making
- Balances analysis, experience, and integrity when making decisions for the overall business
Optimizes Work Processes Be well-versed in piercing operating procedures and regulations to ensure client experience and work safety standards are met
- Partner with your Studio Manager and Compliance partner to ensure the studio is always inspection-ready.
- Owns auditing and submission of detail record keeping including all maintenance, sterilized inventory and tools
- Owns sterilization levels of piercing inventory and piercing supply orders to ensure correct onhand levels that support the needs of the business

- Leads by example and models behavior for the Studio team
- Acts as manager in the building when the SM and ASM are not present
- Participate in Piercer Roundtables to provide valuable input on new Studs’ initiatives and cascade relevant information to your home studio, ensuring that the team is informed and aligned with company goals and strategies.

- Develops piercing talent in home studio by delivering scheduled trainings created by the Piercing Education team and coaching via 1:1’s, with 12-15 hours each quarter for dedicated mentorship
- Shows consistency by providing best in class service to everyone in the Studio
- Owns piercing operations training for non-piercing team members and mentorship to the fellow Piercers
- Provides solutions-oriented feedback and is open-minded to receiving it
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 6 months of piercing experience at Studs (Apprentice experience does not count)
- Internal candidates must also be in Good Standing to apply
- Availability: 30-40 hours per week inclusive of weekends to pierce a minimum of 19 appointments a day
- Comfortable standing for extended periods of time up to 8+ hours
- Able to lift, carry, and move at least 20 lbs
- Must be able to handle chemicals safely
- Must be able to visually inspect ear anatomy to execute advanced piercings
- Must be able to deliver piercings with a steady hand
- Driven, creative problem solver that consistently acts with integrity and speaks up
- Owner’s mindset, with the ability to approach feedback and problems with a positive attitude.
- Strong business acumen and can help foster teamwork between Piercers and Earbar team members
- Patient and effective communicator that can deliver trainings and accommodate different learning styles
