Vice President of Commercial Strategy

100% Remote (U.S. Based Only - Select States)

About the Role

We’re looking for a strategic storyteller and data driven brand expert to lead and scale our pro and customer acquisition, lifecycle marketing, pro and customer satisfaction, brand, and communications efforts. You’ll be responsible for driving growth across both sides of our marketplace - professionals and clients - by building a modern, efficient, and high-performing marketing engine that flows into a high-touch onboarding and implementation experience and long-term user engagement and retention.

You will directly lead teams focused on performance marketing, brand and design, social media engagement, pro and customer satisfaction and support, and lifecycle marketing and communications. As the voice of the customer, you will have a key role in ensuring broad satisfaction with our platform, setting the product roadmap, monetizing new features appropriately, and reaching our core audience of stylists and consumers. You will partner closely with leaders in product, technology and finance as part of our executive leadership team, and work closely with the CEO to set brand strategy.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Grow our Base of Professionals: Define and execute StyleSeat’s marketing strategy to attract new independent beauty professionals through channels including performance marketing, social media, direct sales outreach, brand partnerships, referrals, and more
  • Create Client Demand: Attract clients looking to discover new beauty professionals and services near them to our StyleSeat platform and facilitate their experience to select and book with the best independent stylists for their unique leads
  • Own the Growth Strategy: Own and execute across the entire funnel including user acquisition, onboarding experience, user satisfaction and retention
  • Cultivate a Loyal User Base: Leveraging customization, loyalty programs, lifecycle marketing, communications, and other strategies, ensure that clients continue to return to StyleSeat to book their preferred stylists and discover new services
  • Ensure Pro Success: Through our VIP Customer and Customer Support Teams, ensure that pros have a seamless and satisfying experience with StyleSeat from initial onboarding through growing their business with our client marketplace and maximizing our features, resulting in strong pro satisfaction (especially among our VIP group), retention, and word of mouth referrals
  • Create Successful Pro Businesses: In partnership with our data and analytics team, ensure that we properly capture and communicate the StyleSeat value proposition to independent stylists including our ability to grow their businesses and meet their career goals through our client marketplace, smart pricing and other features
  • Establish Brand Leadership: Evolve the StyleSeat brand to reflect our position as the category leader in independent beauty. Build an emotionally resonant brand platform that connects with professionals and clients alike
  • Optimize Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with Product and Technology on positioning, messaging, and go-to-market plans for new features, pricing changes, and platform innovations
  • Create High Impact Performance Marketing: Partner with our data team to build a rigorous approach to funnel metrics, attribution, LTV:CAC, and campaign performance to inform decisions and maximize ROI
  • Build an Elite Team: Hire, coach, and scale a high-performing team across performance marketing, sales, creative, customer support, lifecycle marketing, and communications functions.
  • Cross-Functional Impact: Partner with the CEO and executive team to align on company strategy and ensure marketing is a lever for strategic growth

 

Who You Are

  • 7+ years of financial management experience, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role at a tech-enabled marketplace or a beauty and wellness company
  • Proven track record of building and scaling B2C marketing engines, ideally in vertical SaaS or SMB platforms
  • Strong performance marketing and growth background, with a proven track record of growing and retaining a user base
  • Exceptional storytelling and brand development skills—able to inspire and drive emotional resonance at scale
  • Strategic thinker with high analytical rigor and strong command of marketing metrics
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, scale teams, and operate in high-growth, fast-paced environments
  • Experience marketing to diverse communities, including Black and Latinx entrepreneurs, a strong plus

Salary Range

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The career levels we are targeting for this role have a combined range of $250,000 to $300,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. Base pay ranges are subject to change and may be modified in the future.
