Stylus Medicine is developing transformative in vivo genetic medicines to unlock cures. Stylus combines engineered recombinases with non-viral delivery to specifically encode therapeutics. The company’s approach is versatile and modular, with potential therapeutic application across oncology, autoimmune, genetic diseases, and beyond.

About the Role:

Stylus Medicine is seeking a Scientist to join our Genome Sciences & Engineering team to drive innovation in next-generation gene editing therapies. In this role, the Scientist will drive the in vitro functional assessment of the company’s lead genome editors to support the advancement of the company’s lead programs through translational and preclinical development. This individual will play a key role in discovery and engineering efforts, advancing LSR-based genome editing platforms and collaborating across diverse R&D teams.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Design and execute in vitro functional assays that support candidate selection and preclinical development of lead genome editors, advancing platform and program objectives
  • Develop and optimize molecular (ddPCR, qPCR) and cytogenetic (KromaTiD, optical genome mapping) assays to measure genome editor activity, specificity, transgene copy number, TCR repertoire, and biodistribution
  • Support genome editor engineering campaigns by running high-throughput screens in relevant cell lines, including primary human T-cells, and delivering timely, decision-quality data to guide candidate selection
  • Troubleshoot experiments, analyze data, and translate results into actionable scientific insights
  • Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and clearly communicate data and findings to the broader scientific team
  • Partner across R&D to advance optimized candidates into translational and preclinical development

Qualifications & Skills:

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field; or MS with 5+ years or BS with 7+ years of relevant experience
