Thanks for your interest in Success Academy! Running a large, fast-growing, and high-performing network of public charter schools takes a village - families, children, teachers, staff and faculty, advocates, and supporters alike. We are growing fast in New York and expanding to Florida, and we would love to welcome you to our community! We work tirelessly every day to ensure children have access to a fun, rigorous, whole-child education regardless of zip code or economic status. When you join SA, you play a part in giving every student who walks through our doors a fair shot at reaching his or her potential.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Regional Building Manager – Florida Sites to join our Renovations & Facilities team. This role is responsible for the operational and environmental health, safety, and functionality of a five-site school portfolio across the Miami-Dade area. As the foundational engine behind our schools, the Regional Building Manager ensures that every campus is a pristine, utilizing SA’s design guidelines, and instruction-ready environment where scholars and educators can thrive.
This position serves as a strategic on-the-ground leader, bridging the gap between our Florida campuses and the New York Network Office. The successful candidate will navigate the complexities of shared school environments and multi-site management, balancing high-level diplomacy with rigorous operational execution. This role may require travel to New York to support organizational alignment and professional development.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments, enjoys solving complex facilities challenges, and is motivated by the opportunity to build the infrastructure required for world-class schooling to scale.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Conduct rigorous walkthroughs across the five-site Florida portfolio to ensure every square foot meets exacting institutional standards for cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic excellence.
-
Manage the full lifecycle of preventative and reactive maintenance for the regional footprint, acting as the chief guardian of physical integrity to ensure zero lost instructional time due to facility issues.
-
Serve as the strategic on-site interface between key district partners and the Network Office, navigating local operational requirements to ensure institutional standards are upheld across the ecosystem.
-
Direct and audit third-party service providers (custodial, HVAC, security), holding vendors to strict service-level agreements (SLAs) and identifying scalable efficiencies in service delivery.
-
Oversee site-level infrastructure projects, including renovations, furniture deployments, and seasonal "refreshes," to ensure a seamless transition from construction to occupancy during school launches.
Skills/ Qualifications:
-
3–5+ years of experience in property or facilities management within high-volume, institutional, or urban school environments, with a proven track record of managing multi-site portfolios.
-
Strong organizational and systems thinking skills, with a focus on evaluating facility workflows, conducting root cause analysis for recurring issues, and identifying scalable operational solutions.
-
Exceptional communication and diplomacy skills, with the ability to partner effectively with both technical repair crews and high-level stakeholders to resolve operational friction constructively.
-
Deep foundational knowledge of Florida building, fire, and health codes, with specific experience navigating state educational facility requirements and safety compliance.
-
Proven experience in vendor and contract management, with a "warm but demanding" approach to holding external partners accountable to high performance and cost-effectiveness standards.
-
Proficient in project coordination, with experience supporting the successful execution of capital improvements and equipment installations in active school settings.
-
Takes initiative and ownership of the physical plant, proactively addressing risks, learning from past operational challenges, and consistently raising the bar for campus readiness.
-
Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent professional experience in large-scale facility management accepted.
