PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field, or equivalent relevant education/experience
  • Previous internship, work, or project experience in aerospace, electric aviation, EVs, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • University, design, entrepreneurial, or personal projects demonstrating technical skills, creativity, or an interest in electric aviation

 

SOFTWARE, CONTROLS & AUTONOMY SPECIFIC TEAMS

The teams within this focus area develop the software, controls, and embedded technologies that enable BETA’s aircraft and systems to operate safely, intelligently, and reliably. From aircraft control laws and autonomy to safety-critical electrical software, digital tools, and connected hardware, these teams turn complex engineering into the systems that power the future of electric flight. 

 

FLIGHT CONTROLS & AUTONOMY 

Develops the control systems and autonomy capabilities that enable stable, safe, and efficient aircraft operation. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++, Git/GitLab
  • Control theory, dynamics & state estimation
  • Software development, testing & data analysis
  • Systems engineering, requirements & verification 

 

AIRBORNE ELECTRIC SOFTWARE 

Develops safety-critical software for the electrical systems that power, monitor, and control BETA aircraft. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • Embedded C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Git/GitLab, Polarion 
  • Structured and object-oriented design, real-time software and control algorithms
  • Software verification/testing, debugging & hardware integration 
  • Requirements engineering and traceability, configuration management & technical documentation 

 

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS 

Develops the embedded hardware and software that connect sensors, actuators, processors, and communications systems across BETA’s products. Strong candidates have experience in: 

Embedded C/C++ and microcontroller development

Git/GitLab, Altium Designer or OrCAD, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers

Digital electronics, interfaces & communication protocols

Hardware/software integration, testing & debugging

Real-time systems, version control & technical documentation

 

The wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. We pay competitively and base compensation on a variety of factors including skills, experience, industry background, and the evolving needs of the role. We remain committed to fair and equitable pay and we're happy to discuss during the interview process.
