PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in a related field, or equivalent relevant education/experience
  • Previous internship, work, or project experience in aerospace, electric aviation, EVs, engineering, manufacturing, or a related field
  • University, design, entrepreneurial, or personal projects demonstrating technical skills, creativity, or an interest in electric aviation

 

DIGITAL SYSTEMS & DATA SPECIFIC TEAMS

The teams within BETA’s Digital Systems & Data Internship focus area build and support the technology, data, and security infrastructure that power BETA’s mission to transform aviation through electric aircraft. From supporting the systems that connect our growing organization to protecting critical information and turning complex data into actionable insights, these teams play an essential role in helping BETA design, build, test, and scale the future of aviation. 

 

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION 

 Manages and supports the infrastructure, systems, networks, and technology services that keep BETA’s teams connected and productive. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • Windows, macOS, Linux, identity, endpoint-management or collaboration platforms
  • Network fundamentals, troubleshooting, hardware support & system administration
  • Cloud and infrastructure tools such as AWS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID, Intune or Jamf
  • Scripting, automation & documentation using PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar tools 

 

INFORMATION SECURITY (INFO SEC) 

Protects BETA’s systems, data, and people by identifying and mitigating cybersecurity risks, strengthening security practices, and supporting a secure technology environment. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • Cybersecurity principles, risk assessment & secure technology practices
  • Network, endpoint, cloud or identity-security fundamentals
  • Security monitoring, incident response & vulnerability management using tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Tenable or Microsoft Defender
  • Scripting, data analysis & technical documentation using Python, PowerShell, Excel or similar tools 

 

DIGIITAL OPERATIONS 

Improves and supports the digital tools, platforms, and processes that enable teams to work efficiently, collaborate effectively, and scale BETA’s operations. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • Cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code & deployment workflows using AWS, AWS CDK/CloudFormation, Terraform, Docker, and Git/GitLab
  • Software development, APIs, integrations & workflow automation using Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languages
  • Data-driven internal tools, scalable digital products & operational process improvement
  • Product-focused problem-solving, technical documentation & cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with agentic coding tools

 

DATA SCIENCE 

Use data, analytics, and computational methods to solve complex problems, identify trends, and generate insights that support BETA’s engineering, manufacturing, and business operations. Strong candidates have experience in: 

  • Python or R, with exposure to AWS/cloud 
  • Data preparation, analysis, and visualization
  • Statistics, mathematics, and machine learning  
  • Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly, or similar tools
  • SQL and databases
  • Grafana or Tableau 

 

The wage listed here reflects our best faith estimate for this role. We pay competitively and base compensation on a variety of factors including skills, experience, industry background, and the evolving needs of the role.
