
Junior Investment Research Analyst

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Junior Investment Research Analyst to join our dynamic investment research team. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our investment process by conducting in-depth research and analysis on a variety of investment strategies and market trends. You will leverage data analysis techniques to identify potential investment opportunities and contribute to the firm's overall investment decision-making process. As a Junior Investment Research Analyst, you will have the opportunity to interact with and gain exposure to senior management. You will work closely with experienced investment professionals and have access to senior-level executives for mentorship and guidance. This position offers a unique chance to learn from industry leaders and gain valuable insights into high-level investment strategies and decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
- Quantitative Research & Analysis:
- Conduct in-depth quantitative research and analysis on a variety of equity focused Portfolio Managers
- Analyze historical performance data, risk characteristics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess Portfolio Managers and identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Develop sophisticated quantitative models and perform statistical analyses to support investment decisions.
- Market Research & Analysis:
- Monitor market trends, identify emerging investment opportunities, and analyze macroeconomic and geopolitical factors that may impact investment decisions.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes, and advancements in investment research methodologies.
- Data Management & Analysis:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of research findings, data sets, and investment analyses.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques (e.g., Python, R, SQL, statistical software) to extract insights from large datasets and generate reports.
- Presentation & Communication:
- Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations for internal stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate complex research findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in investment research, quantitative analysis, or a related field (internships considered).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with familiarity with Excel, SQL, Python, R, or other relevant programming languages.
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interest in the hedge fund industry and a passion for financial markets and data analysis.
- CFA designation or progress towards completion is a plus.
