Position Overview:
The position will be a vital member of the business development team, responsible for managing key aspects of the department's hiring process. This includes managing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, spearheading data collection and analysis, helping with targeted portfolio manager and analyst searches and facilitating strategic communication with internal and external parties. This analyst will contribute to evaluating portfolio managers and analysts, assessing investment opportunities, and ensuring that the business development team operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Manager & Analyst Due Diligence:
- Collaborate with the business development team to evaluate potential portfolio managers and analysts by analyzing performance metrics, strategy alignment, and risk profiles.
- Lead efforts to collect and synthesize critical data on hedge fund performance, market trends, and peer activity to support decision-making.
- Partner with internal teams to prepare comprehensive due diligence materials for the investment committee.
- Pipeline & CRM Management:
- Oversee the firm’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure accurate tracking of prospective portfolio managers and investment opportunities.
- Maintain an active pipeline to track business development activities and key metrics, enabling the team to make data-driven decisions.
- Report and highlight key metrics related to portfolio manager performance and business development activities.
- Coordinate meetings between portfolio managers, business development team members, and external partners or prospects.
- Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes, and follow up with action items.
- Market Research & Intelligence Gathering
- Stay informed on industry developments, including hedge fund trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscapes.
- Provide regular updates on peer activity and emerging opportunities within the hedge fund space.
- Help with targeted searches to find investment talent.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, finance, marketing or related field.
- Strong proficiency in CRM systems (FolioMetrics is a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on data accuracy and consistency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in business development, financial services, or hedge fund operations is a plus.
