Overview of Role:
The Director, Commercial Analytics & Information turns Summit's commercial data into decisions. This role owns launch analytics, performance reporting, dashboards, and the field-facing insight products that tell Sales and Marketing what is working and what is not. The role sets the definitions behind every commercial metric and is the final word on what a number means, so that Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial Operations are all working from the same figure. This leader consumes the data assets owned by Commercial Data Management & Strategy and partners with Business Information on the tools that deliver analysis. Because ivonescimab is an intravenous buy-and-bill product, this role must be able to build a credible performance picture from purchase and claims data rather than from prescription data, and must be explicit about what that picture can and cannot show.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Own the commercial reporting and analytics package, including the launch dashboard, national and regional performance reporting, and the field-facing report set.
- Own the definition of every commercial metric and maintain the definitions document that Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Commercial Operations all work from.
- Build the launch analytics framework, including leading indicators that will show whether the launch is on track before revenue data can confirm it.
- Deliver analytics supporting targeting and segmentation, call planning, and field resource allocation, in partnership with Sales Operations and Marketing.
- Provide the analytical basis for incentive compensation goal setting, in partnership with Sales Operations and Finance.
- Build and maintain the analytics tooling and self-service reporting layer, in partnership with Business Information.
- Deliver insight rather than data. Explain what changed, why it changed, and what to do about it, in language a commercial leader can act on.
- Set the analytical standards the eleven Regional Business Managers work to, so regional analysis rolls up consistently.
- State clearly and in writing the limitations of the available data, including what buy-and-bill purchase data cannot tell the organization about patient-level demand.
- Collaborative Responsibilities - Market Research Support
- Apply claims, EHR, lab, and alternative data sources – including digital/omnichannel, payer, and hub – to support patient journey modeling, segmentation, and drivers-of-business analysis in partnership with Marketing.
- Leverage AI tools and analog research to surface forecast-relevant insights and support cross-functional decision making in collaboration with the Director, Forecasting and Commercial Data & Technology.
- All other duties as assigned
Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or life sciences field. Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10+ years of commercial analytics experience within pharmaceuticals or biotechnology industry
- Product launch analytics experience is required. Oncology launch experience is strongly preferred.
- People management experience is strongly preferred.
- Deep fluency with pharmaceutical commercial data assets, including specialty distributor and specialty pharmacy data, claims data, and patient-level data.
- Experience building performance analytics for an intravenous, buy-and-bill product is strongly preferred.
- Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, and at least one business intelligence platform such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience supporting incentive compensation goal setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to explain analytical findings simply and confidently to senior leaders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
