The Financial Reporting Senior Position
 
Sunnova Energy is searching for Financial Reporting Senior to be responsible for all internal and external financial reporting. Currently, there are numerous stand-alone reporters and one public registrant. This position will report to the Financial Reporting Manager.

 

Financial Reporting Senior Responsibilities 
  • Prepares financial statements, including 10-Q and 10-K, verifying all transactions and disclosures are in compliance with GAAP and the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”)
  • Develops and implements XBRL processes
  • Assists in managing SOX policies and controls and review processes related to internal controls over financial reporting
  • Prepares and assists with compliance reporting for banks, investors, and other regulators
  • Supports external auditors of prepared financial statements
  • Analyzes variance schedules on balance sheet and income statement, including preparing documentation for and writing MD&A
  • Assists with developing internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Research technical accounting issues as they arise and prepares memo documentation to support research, analyses, and conclusion.
  • Ensures compliance with and maintain analyses and action plans of new accounting pronouncements and standards and SEC guidance, including documenting the company’s positions
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2-4+ years of audit experience in Big Four or large accounting firm and/or SEC financial reporting within industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and leasing (ASC 842)
  • Strong research and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or progression toward CPA
  • Strong proficiency in Vena, SalesForce and/or FinancialForce a plus
  • Public Accounting Experience a plus
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and think outside the box
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments while working under pressure and time constraints
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Result oriented, proactive, and possess a high level of integrity
