Staff Accountant , Fixed Assets & Debt
Sunnova Energy is searching for a Senior Accountant to be responsible for various areas within Fixed Assets and Debt . This position will manage accounting functions for month end and quarterly close tasks, account reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and other key areas of general accounting.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- Performs all related accounting functions required to maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and company policy for debt, deferred financing costs, PP&E, and other areas
- Coordinates month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities to ensure timely reporting; assists with quarterly public audits
- Prepares elimination and consolidation entries
- Identifies and reconciles any financial discrepancies
- Analyzes monthly results and performs variance analysis
- Prepares supporting schedules for possibly public and many non-public financial statements
- Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations
- Prepares, reviews, and clearly communicate various analyses and other information to members of management and external auditors
- Develops procedures to improve workflow efficiency and internal controls
Minimum Requirements
- 2-4+ years of accounting experience
- An undergraduate degree with an accounting concentration
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA Public accounting experience
- Renewal-energy industry experience
- Proficient using Salesforce and FinancialForce
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with multiple legal entities and intercompany transactions
- Impeccable integrity: words and actions must continually reinforce this characteristic
- A team player with knowledge and experience in US generally accepted accounting principles
- Has a successful track record meeting deadlines, increasing efficiency, and identifying and resolving issues
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
