ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The Senior Business Development Analyst – Multifamily is responsible for leading advanced market research, financial analysis, and multifamily pro forma modeling to support new business pursuits, client retention, and portfolio growth. This role partners closely with senior leadership, sales, and operations teams to evaluate management, acquisition, and repositioning opportunities across a national multifamily platform.
As part of the client strategy and business development function, the Senior Analyst transforms complex market and property-level data into clear, compelling, client-facing insights that differentiate the organization and directly impact revenue. This position plays a critical role in shaping growth strategy by evaluating opportunity risk, underwriting assumptions, and long-term performance outcomes.
- COMPENSATION
- $95,000–$110,000 annual base salary, plus bonus (total compensation commensurate with experience).
- LOCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants must reside in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, or Nevada.
- TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Driver’s License is required, as this role involves travel.
- Up to 5% travel may be required.
PRIMARY REPSONSIBILITYES AND OBJECTIVES:
Include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Lead multifamily market, submarket, and asset-level analysis for prospective and existing client properties
- Develop and maintain detailed multifamily financial models and pro formas, including rent growth, vacancy, concessions, operating expenses, NOI, and fee revenue assumptions
- Underwrite management, acquisition, and repositioning opportunities by evaluating financial feasibility, downside risk, and return scenarios
- Analyze competitive sets, rent surveys, and supply/demand dynamics, clearly articulating drivers behind rent differentials and performance trends
- Maintain deep knowledge of local and national multifamily market conditions, economic indicators, and regulatory considerations
- Partner with business development and operations teams to align underwriting assumptions with operational strategy and execution
- Create client-facing presentations, pitch decks, and RFP responses that clearly communicate market insights and financial outcomes
- Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders by translating analytical findings into actionable recommendations
- Manage and coordinate analytical components of the RFP and pursuit lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
- Conduct field market research, site visits, and desk-based analysis as needed
- Develop custom reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support multifamily growth initiatives
- Support pricing, fee structure analysis, and scenario modeling related to management proposals
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts as needed
- Project manage analytical workflows across multiple active pursuits
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in multifamily real estate analysis, business development analytics, operations, or investment underwriting
- Proven experience building multifamily pro formas and financial models or the equivalent.
- Background in property management, asset management, acquisitions, or investment analysis preferred
SKILLS AND REQUIRMENTS:
- Advanced understanding of multifamily operating metrics, financial statements, and underwriting principles
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling, scenario and sensitivity analysis
- Strong PowerPoint or other presentation software skills with the ability to produce executive-level, client-ready materials
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear strategic narratives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership and clients
- Highly detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while collaborating cross-functionally
- Strategic thinker with a growth-oriented mindset and strong business acumen
- Ability to travel up to 5%
