Using discretion and independent judgement, the Store Manager will establish and implement short and long-range objectives for the assigned location, oversee related functions and activities, and administer company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions

- Analyzes and organizes sales operations for location(s).
- Responsible for and oversees the delivery of products to all customers served by location.
- Prepares weekly sales reports based on previous week and sets goals for future.
- Represents the organization with all referral sources; customers, potential clients, partnering companies and vendors.
- Communicates as needed with outside sales and home office concerning new developments and/or problems.
- Responsible for review of sales goals to include customer call log, for confirmation of product delivery and ongoing customer satisfaction.
- Manages both customer and employee conflict and resolves complaints about or within the department.
- Responsible for and oversees products that are available at the store location for pick up and deliveries.
- Responsible for review of sales goals to include customer outreach through CRM to maintain and establish new customer relations.
- Works with internal admin and customer success team relative to sales tracking, performance review and location efficiency, as well as customer support and employee engagement.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring, training, and firing of employees.
- Delegates referral process/coordination, staffing coordination, supply inventory, and oversees the completion of these processes.
- Opens and closes facility a minimum of 30 minutes before/after normal business hours.
- Responsible for daily and monthly inventory management, including waste containment.
- Generates weekly time and attendance schedules and reviews hours for payroll.
- Required and responsible for equipment operation, training and certification.
- Maintains storefront, displays and inside working areas to ensure workspaces are clean and accessible by employees and customers
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages employees within the retail store and is responsible for the performance, management, and hiring of the employees within the location departments. Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and the termination of employees through proper processes. Responsible for coaching, teaching, implementing, inspecting and upholding a safe culture and work environment at the location.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, digital filing systems and payment processing machines. The employee will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces and heights up to 8 feet. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating of heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, lift, push, pull, stoop, or bend. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity and coordination. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and office supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Regional
Manager, though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday work required as job duties demand (typically during harvesting season, March-November, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.).
Availability and On-Call Responsibilities-As the Store Manager, you are expected to maintain accessibility by always keeping your work-issued cell phone on your person during and outside of store hours. This ensures prompt response to emergencies, operational issues, or other urgent matters that may arise.
Travel
This position may require up to 25% travel.
Required Education and Experience
- 3+ years of Retail Management experience.
- 2+ years of Team Supervision experience.
- 1+ year of experience with Agricultural Retail Management and/or related business.
- Face-to-face / Counter Sales and Customer Service experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communication; or equivalent in experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2+ years of experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.
- Additional education in turf management, horticulture, or similar field of study.
- Bilingual skills in English / Spanish are a big plus.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must be 19 years of age or older.
- All potential new hires will be subjected to a pre-employment background and motor vehicle check and drug screen.
- To perform essential job duties, all potential new hires must be eligible to drive a company vehicle according to Super-Sod insurance guidelines:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- No major safety and moving violations reported on MVR within the past (3) years.
Major violations include but are not limited to:
- Felony convictions
- Automobile insurance canceled or not renewed by an insurance company due to excessive tickets, accidents, points, or fraud.
- Convicted of alcohol or drug related offense while driving.
- Convicted of three or more speeding violations or serious moving violations; moving violations include texting or cell phone violations.
- Been involved in two or more chargeable accidents.
General Salary Range
$65,000 - $85,000 USD
