The Seed Plant Laborer is responsible for performing necessary task to successfully treat and package the seed production, post-harvest, in preparation for customer delivery. This includes operating seed treatment and packaging equipment, performing quality checks, and supporting daily plant operations to prepare seed for delivery. This role is essential to ensuring the integrity, safety, and accuracy of our seed production—perfect for someone who enjoys structured, physical work and values precision in a production environment. Th seed treating equipment used for mixing, loading and application, as well as maintaining the treating equipment within the Seed Plant.
Essential Functions

- Performs work activities safely and in compliance with company safety program.
- Responsible for maintaining varietal purity to avoid cross contamination.
- Operates seed treatment and packaging equipment according to manufacturer instructions and Company standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal working condition.
- Monitor machine operations to detect any problems and report any machinery malfunctions for timely repairs.
- Performs Quality Assurance checks and documents results accurately
- Thoroughly cleans all equipment between conditioning to maintain product integrity
- Performing regular scale weight checks
- Ensures shipping labels are accurate, neat, legible, and professional in appearance
- Performs accurate bagged seed inventory counts
- Any additional task or activities assigned by the Plant Supervisor.

No supervisory responsibility.
Work Environment
This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This employee requires full range of motion of arms and legs and requires constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Plant Manager; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., evening and weekend hours will be necessary to accommodate operational needs.
Travel
There is little to no travel required for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- On-the-job training provided.
- Secondary Education in Turf Management, Ag Business, or related experience preferred.
- Pesticide Applicator License preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Hourly Pay Range
$12 - $16 USD
