A Super-Sod Regional Logistics Safety and Compliance Manager is expected to oversee driver training, enforce FMCSA/DOT compliance, manage safety reporting, and work closely with operations to promote a culture of accountability and safety across our regional hauling team.
Essential Functions

- Establish and implement safety practices to ensure successful Delivery execution.
- Maintain all driver training and ensure all operational activities are in compliance with all State and Federal rules & regulations.
- Conduct weekly, monthly and quarterly safety meetings to include tractor-trailer and forklift best practice; document attendances.
- Coordinates DOT and FMCSA compliance scheduling with Human Resources department.
- Coordinate with Supervisors to ensure proper coaching of driver safety violations and point hiring/termination as needed.
- In collaboration with Human Resources and the Company Safety Director, works to administer quarterly and annual reporting under federal and state guidelines.
- In collaboration with the Company Safety Committee, manages the Accident Investigation process for Regional Logistics team members.
- Monitors and manages Compliance, Safety and Accountability scores; Conducts routine counseling with individual Drivers to resolve safety scores and reduce infractions.
- Conducts new Driver training and oversees continuous education programs for all regional logistics employees.
- In collaboration with Regional Maintenance Manager, ensures all routine vehicle maintenance is scheduled, performed and within safety compliance.
- Work with Operations team and stakeholders to ensure all logistics staff comply with FMCSA/DOT and Company Safety standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Competencies
- Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- Extensive knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations and procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and ability to conduct effective training.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with computerized distribution systems.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This is a managerial role which requires direct and effective oversight all Safety and Compliance items related to the Regional Hauling team. Must demonstrate self-management skills.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a professional retail environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, e-filing systems, and fax machines. The employee will be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating of heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. While this position is primarily sedentary, the employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours can change at the discretion of the Logistics Director; though typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend hours will be necessary to accommodate any issues that may arise.
Travel
This position requires 75% travel time.
Compensation
This position is full-time and is paid a Base Salary + 10% Performance Bonus.
Required Education and Experience
- 4+ Years in Supply Chain / Trucking Environment
- CDL
- Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, leadership, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with turfgrass sod and seed in a retail setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or similar field.
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) skills strongly preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Logistics Software
General Salary Range
$68,000 - $75,000 USD
