Responsibilities:
Review operative reports to abstract information and apply CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM codes
Provide coding for all Level 2 and some Level 3 procedures (ASC) as well as Level 1 as needed
Perform coding for pro fee surgical encounters
Verify LCD/NCD information as appropriate
Utilize NCCI edits, AMA CPT Assistant, AHA Coding Clinic, and other resources as needed
Initiate physician queries as needed
Escalate coding/documentation problems when appropriate
Participate in ongoing coding education
Perform other related duties as required/assigned

2 years outpatient surgical coding
2 years of Ambulatory Surgical Center coding experience
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology

Responsibilities:
Pull daily banking for multiple clients
Enter deposits into the reconciliation logs
Process timely and accurate posting of all payments
Post all payments within 24 hours
Meet strict posting deadlines to ensure that Payment Posting Manager can complete weekly and monthly reporting requirements
Communicate all payer issues to the Payment Posting Manager
Understand payer contract with all rules that apply to that specific payer and client
Maintain professional and consistent communication with the team and clients to ensure that all needed items are received in a timely manner
Identify patterns and trends that indicate a potential issue

Requirements

Work through book of AR and develop plan for maintaining proper coverage on all accounts.
Review aged accounts, trace and appeal unpaid and/or erroneously paid or denied accounts
Work all denials and underpayments received within 24 hours by researching steps previously taken and take additional action, as needed to resolve the claim.
Obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
Work tickler accounts daily to ensure overall health of client accounts receivable.

Identify trends and inform client lead/manager, as appropriate
