The market research organization at SurveyMonkey caters to an exciting new space, ripe for innovation and helps millions of people make a wide variety of product and marketing decisions every day. Market research engineering teams are accountable for the services and experiences that power a variety of products from self-serve to highly specialized market research use cases.
The market research team works on developing large-scale web applications, state-of-the-art tech platforms, big data analytics, and mobile applications, As a small tech team, every member plays a critical role in driving success for millions of people in achieving the right decisions from our products
What you’ll be working on
- Own the architecture of new and existing MRX Audience systems/components/ products to drive business results.
- Developing solutions and building flexible systems that balance engineering complexity and timely delivery, creating business impact.
- Help, mentor, and coach a team of very talented engineers, drive code and design reviews of systems/components in scope.
- Have a deep understanding of our high-scale microservices, cloud technologies, and continuous integration and deployment process.
- Accountable for design, quality, performance, scale and limitation of the system, set direction for adopting new technologies for business use cases.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications in production, identify bottlenecks and patterns of production issues, and propose long-term solutions and optimizations, be available for on-call duty as needed.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and other engineering leaders to help define a mid-term, and long-term roadmap.
We’d love to hear from people with
- 8+ years of experience in software product development
- Experience in designing systems from a prototype, successfully architectured and led technical solutions for consumer-facing products
- Hands-on experience designing, building and running high-performant, large-scale systems based on microservices architecture and handling millions of requests
- Experience in designing, building and maintaining applications leveraging cloud technologies such as: AWS, Azure, Large-scale databases and message queues,
- Programming skills in any object-oriented language (Python preferred) and expertise in multi-threading and performance-orienting programming, excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, and object-oriented concepts
- Familiarity with of CI/CD is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with both co-located and remote engineers and cross-functional partners
- A growth/data mindset in approaching challenges
- Must have a degree in computer science or related field
This opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru at least 3 days per week.
