What we’re looking for

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer in Test I to join SurveyMonkey. As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications, empowering users to create, manage, and analyze forms with ease. This role is crucial in ensuring our applications are user-friendly, scalable, and maintainable while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency.

You will work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to develop and implement robust testing strategies, ensuring high-performance, accessible, and engaging user experiences. What you’ll be working on

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites for web applications and backend services.
  • Performing manual and exploratory testing as needed to ensure high-quality software releases.
  • Collaborating with developers, product managers, and designers to identify test requirements and improve overall product quality.
  • Investigating, documenting, and tracking bugs and failures, ensuring proper resolution.
  • Defining and implementing quality metrics to measure test effectiveness and product reliability.
  • Driving continuous improvements in test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Supporting performance, load, and stress testing to ensure the scalability and reliability of our applications.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 5+ years of professional software testing experience with a strong emphasis on automation.
  • Experience in testing highly scalable web applications and services.
  • Proficiency with JavaScript-based web automation tools (e.g., WebdriverIO, Cypress, or Playwright).
  • Strong understanding of Web, HTTP, and API design, and experience testing RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, test design techniques, and Agile testing practices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a distributed team environment.

As such, this opportunity is hybrid and requires you to work from the SurveyMonkey office in Bengaluru 3 days per week.
