What we’re looking for

As a Sr. Growth Product Designer, you will be a key strategic leader within the Research and Design organization, specifically embedded within our Growth team. You will own the end-to-end design and optimization of critical parts of the SurveyMonkey user journey, focused on driving key business metrics like activation, conversion, retention, and referrals. You will translate complex user behaviors and business goals into high-velocity, data-informed experiments and intuitive experiences. Partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Analytics, you will define, deliver, and rapidly iterate on solutions that directly impact our growth funnel. We are looking for a hands-on, experienced contributor who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will be instrumental in shaping the Growth design strategy, mentoring our green design team to elevate their craft, and championing a culture of rapid, evidence-based iteration. At SurveyMonkey, our Growth Product Designers blend deep user empathy with rigorous, metrics-driven decision-making. You’ll combine your expertise in interaction design with your ability to analyze quantitative data (A/B testing results, funnel metrics) and qualitative insights to set a clear, impactful design direction. You’ll report to the Sr. Growth Design Manager and serve as a crucial partner in building and scaling our Growth design practice and team capabilities.

What you’ll be working on

  • Lead the full product design lifecycle: Focus on optimizing the growth funnel (e.g., onboarding, paywalls, feature adoption, cross-sell motions), moving quickly from hypotheses to high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
  • Design for experimentation: Work with Product and Engineering to frame design work as testable hypotheses and design multivariate tests (A/B/n) for measurable impact.
  • Conduct and Synthesize Data: Deeply analyze quantitative data (funnel drop-offs, A/B test results) alongside qualitative user research to identify friction points and major growth opportunities.
  • Drive Design Strategy for Growth: Influence the growth roadmap by proactively identifying and championing high-leverage design opportunities based on data analysis.
  • Accelerated Iteration: Operate with a bias for speed and measurable impact, focusing on delivering Minimum Viable Tests (MVT) and optimizing designs rapidly based on performance.

We’d love to hear from people with

  • 8+ years of professional product design experience, with a minimum of 3+ years specifically in a Product Growth, Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), or highly metrics-driven B2B/SaaS environment.
  • Portfolio Required: Portfolio must clearly demonstrate a user-centered design process applied to Growth challenges, including examples of:
  • A/B testing and experimentation cycles.
  • Measurable business outcomes (e.g., lift in conversion, activation rate, or retention).
  • Rapid iteration and tight turnaround work.
  • Data Fluency: Proven expertise in collaborating with analysts to translate funnel metrics and A/B test data into design solutions and design hypotheses. Experience with tools like Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Expertise in Figma (or equivalent tools) for wireframing, prototyping, and preparing production-ready specs in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrated Leadership: Experience mentoring, coaching, and providing design direction to mid- and junior-level designers. Proven ability to help build a design team's skills and process.
  • Deep understanding of interaction design principles, visual design, and information architecture, with the ability to maintain quality under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of successfully influencing cross-functional partners (especially Product and Analytics) using data and design rationale.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking (long-term impact) with hands-on execution (immediate optimization) in a high-speed, agile environment.
