MP&L Scheduling and Distribution Analyst

Job Summary:
The Materials Planning & Logistics (MP&L) Scheduling and Distribution Analyst is responsible for ensuring the efficient scheduling, movement, and distribution of materials within the supply chain. This role involves coordinating production schedules, optimizing logistics processes, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet production and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling & Planning:
- Develop and maintain production schedules to align with customer orders and inventory targets.
- Monitor and adjust schedules based on demand fluctuations, supply chain constraints, or unforeseen disruptions.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to optimize workflow.
Material & Inventory Management:
- Ensure materials availability for production while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Track incoming and outgoing shipments to prevent material shortages or overstocking.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to maintain smooth material flow.
Logistics & Distribution Coordination:
- Plan and manage the distribution of materials between warehouses, suppliers, and production facilities.
- Work with logistics providers to optimize shipping methods, reduce costs, and meet delivery deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Monitor KPIs related to scheduling, distribution, and inventory management.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or cost-saving opportunities.
- Generate reports and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, customer service, and finance teams to ensure alignment.
- Communicate changes in schedules or distribution plans to key stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supply chain operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in scheduling, logistics, distribution, or supply chain roles.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Excel, data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Experience with inventory management and logistics planning.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
